This will be my first year posting picks on Madjacks, and I will be posting both college and pro games. For any of you that read SSB in the past, I posted college picks under the name Clark. I have a few plays right now that I believe should be played as soon as possible because these lines will most likely shift against us.

Oklahoma -21 over UAB - The Bomar suspension is getting all of the publicity, and people have forgotten about the Sooners' strength....defense. UAB wasn't a great offense even when they had Charles Barkley...err...Darrell Hackney running the team. I don't see UAB scoring much at all in this game, and after about thirty carries from AP, the UAB defense will get worn down in a hurry.

Kent State +17 over Minnesota - This line is available right now at Pinny right now but it might not be up for long. Dix Stadium is usually a morgue, but the expectations for Kent should bring out some fans and the students will be back. Minny's off season has not been pretty on the offensive side of the ball, and without a top notch back, I think we will see just how average Cupito is as a passer. The Gophers should win but it will remain close.

Ball State -4.5 over Eastern Michigan - This line just isn't going to get any better for the home team. Brady Hoke has to be fired up to start the season with all of his players unlike last season. The Cards are not going to be a great MAC team, but I really expect them to come out firing against the worst team in the MAC.

Houston -13.5 over Rice - Kevin Kolb is finally a senior even though it feels as though he has been at Houston since the late 90's. Actually, I thought his career would develop a little better, but the open offensive approach will allow him to get a good start to the 2006 season. The Rice Chex will be hard pressed to stop this offense.

I will have some more picks, along with some totals, early in the week.

Definitely agree with Okla over UAB, except I played more heavily on the under, and I love the Kent State game keeping it close to Minny. Minny coach even said that "they did not have a RB capable of playing Big10 football" WOW talk about confidence. GL to you Carl

The youth of America will probably get cheated once again this fall. As a matter of fact, I am working in the same district as Falcon this year, so we actually have time built in to the day for handicapping.

Nebraska -21 over Louisiana Tech - I am not sold on Nebraska being a power again, but I can see them being solid enough to make it to the Big XII championship game. Two key things in this game. First of all, the Nebraska defense should feast on the Tech offense and cause a short field for the Nebraska offense at least twice. Secondly, Tech is replacing nine defensive starters and this is a mean way to get thrown into the fire.

Texas -23.5 over North Texas (First Half) - Basically, this means that Texas has to score twenty-four first half points because North Texas will not move the ball at all against the Longhorn's first team defense. I can see North Texas scoring late and possibly getting the back door for the game, but this is going to start out ugly.

Indiana pk/Michigan -19.5 (six point teaser) - Teasers are not a great advantage in college football typically but I think we are catching two key numbers. Western is no longer the best directional school in Michigan, and there is very little chance of Indiana getting beat at home in the opener. Many people might not realize it, but they will be able to score. Michigan is finally healthy to start the year, outside of Antonio Bass, but his injury took place in the spring. I look for a very nice performance and the 19.5 gives us a great opportunity.

Wisconsin/Bowling Green over 47 - The weather is here...wish you were beautiful. Actually the weather here in C-town is going to clear up by this evening. It isn't that bad right now. BG's defense will not stop the Badgers and they will have to play catch up which helps the over.

Michigan -14 over Vandy (First Half) - See Falcon's reasons for the first quarter bet. Michigan rolls today.

Oklahoma/UAB over 41.5 - Might as well say Oklahoma over. Defensive and/or special teams scores will put this one over the total.
