Minny (+9) over Philly
Minnesota had lost four of five to close the regular season. The Eagles lost their last 2 games going into the playoffs. Yes, they were meaningless games and the starters barely played. The two games before that were wins, @Was (3) @Dal (5). Eagles Following a bye week, including playoffs, coach Andy Reid is 8-0.

Now Philly should be able to take advantage of Minny's defense but with the lackadaisical approach to the last 4 games of the season it might be hard for Philly to get back into the swing of things. After all the Eagles lost their best offensive weapon and haven't even attempted to run an offense with out him. Against Dallas when TO went down, McNabb needed to scramble almost every play to generate offense, that will not get it done against the Vikes. Plus Minnesota's potent passing offense should have success against Philadelphia's secondary. The Vikes have the 4th ranked offense in the NFL while the Eagles have the 10th ranked defense. Moss is banged up but should be able to make plays come this weekend.

Philly averages about 24 points per game and the Vikes allow about 25. So for the Vikes it will be a matter of out scoring the Eagles. Philly has a good defense and they have the D-lineman to generate pressure. Culpepper will have to avoid big mistakes. I'm sure both teams will assign a spy to avoid the QB's running all over the field. But what this game will come down to is how successful Minny's offense is against the defense. Too many weapons for the eagles to cover. I'll take the 9 points but wouldn't be surprise to see the Vikes win.

Cheers

Pitt (-9) over Jets
NYJ proved they were not scared about going deep. Pennington showed the arm he has in the past. Martin always a threat to break a long run and a great O-line are all things the Jets bring to Hinze field this weekend. However the time off allowed the steelers to get healthy. Townsend, Bell, and Staley should be close to 100% come game time. This is huge for the Steelers because they get all the components of the team that blew out the Eagles and Pats. The biggest factor is the O-line of the steelers, they should be able to protect Ben and open up holes for the running game. The Jets have a GREAT front 7 but can be beat in the secondary. Play action will be huge in this game. The conditions will be terrible, has rained in Pitt almost all week. The loss of Abraham hurt the Jets on defense. The Steelers defense is quick and play very aggressive. The steelers also play a lot more energetic at home. SD was good but their defense is no where near Pitts. It will be a sloppy game. Last meeting was a 11 point win, and the steelers didn't play very well. IMO Cowher is a better coach and the steelers are the better team.

Falcons (-7) over Rams
Both teams are turf teams so that shouldn't matter. Bulger has heated up of late but that was against the Eagles B team and a terrible Seahawk team. The Rams defense just cannot tackle and will have a tough time with the running game of the falcons. The main player on the Rams defense is Little, you control him and they have no other threat. What this game really comes down to is the Atl defense. This group should be able to dominate the line of scrimmage. Falcon defense piled up a league-high 48 sacks. St. Louis O-line is not good and Nutten can barely make it to the line of scrimmage. They should not be able to open any lanes for Faulk or Jackson, putting all the pressure back on Bulger. Mind you that if the defense is closing down the running lanes more than likely they will be getting pressure on Marc. Forcing him to throw before he is ready. This is a problem because the Rams routes take a bit to set up, most of them are deep routes. Also the Falcons have Rossum returning kicks, he is always a threat to break a long one.

Indy (+1.5/ ML) over NE

Looked at this game long and hard. NE does not lose at home. The have had Manning's number so Bilichek (sp) must see something. However the Colts did give the Pats a game earlier in the year. If it wasn't for the kicker missing a potential game winning FG. Looking at this match-up, The colts have the advantage on offense because the NE secondary is so banged up. To make up for the lack of talent in the secondary NE will throw different looks and insane blitzes to get Manning out of rhythm. No Seymore (sp) hurts the line pressure, thats why the formations and LB blitzes will be used. NE also has the advantage on offense because the Colts defense is not very strong. Dillon should have a big day. The field conditions should be frozen. I have to think that with the new enforcement of the "Chuck rule" and the secondary problems the Colts shock the Pats. Manning will have to prove he can win the big game and read the defense quick because today will be a HOT read pass day!
