that line reflects the FSU loss, that and they are home with rix starting. The FSU money has new hope, plus Duke isn't a very good team. Still 31???

how do you explain tulane's 59 points & then tulane came back to score 3-vs- houston. ...............4 out for UAB on (D)..........sr - cb- hendricks /jr- s- whitmore/ so- dt- hamlin/ & so - de- bissinger....

Not sure what the question is, but I would explain the fluctuation of Tulane's points by:
1. the played UAB @ home and then @ Houston
2. Tulane had about 230 yards of total offense and few turnovers some fumbles and ints.
3. Kolb played well and the freshman QB for Tulane struggled.

I don't know if that would be indicative of the UAB play? IMO even with a banged up defense the blazers still should generate turn-overs. Just my opinion. Good luck to you

I can't confirm it now, but I thought I saw somewhere ASU's RB is questionable for the game on Sat, does that change your thoughts any? I like ASU by the way but I wish I could find where I read that I thought he might not play:

Nice call on the game, blazers didn't show in the 4th. Bad penalties all game for the blazers! You live and learn (Memphis lost to UAB).

I still like this play a lot. It is Homecoming - Senior day, and ASU is retiring the Pat Tilman number 42. Very emotional day for these players.
Coach Koetter spoke on the tailback situation:
"I would imagine that Hakim will be the starter if he continues to practice like he did last week and how he played with Preston backing him up."

Louisville (-13) over Memphis L
This Cardinal team is too balanced for Memphis to stop. IMO Memphis is a very good team at home but I think Miami is a much tougher place to play and Louisville did pretty well there and in UNC (another tough place to play). The Bearcats rushed all day long on Memphis and this is a problem. With Shelton & Bush the Cards have a good running threat, not to mention a VERY mobile QB! Now if Memphis practiced all week on stopping the run and stack men in the box then Lefores beats them with the pass.Memphis defense will be put to the test, the Cardinals' receivers have dropped only 8 passes all year, and the Tigers pass defense has given up more than 270 yards a game, 109th in the nation. That doesn't speak well of a team that just let Cincy run for 200 plus!

Memphis killed the Cards last year, this year there is going to be a little pay back. Louisville has held 4 teams to less than 250 total yards. They lead the conference in scoring, rushing and total defense, (13 points, 98 rushing yards & 279 total yards per game). IMO Memphis hasn't faced a team of this caliber all year yet they still have 2 loses. Wimprine is a good QB but along with his 11 TD's comes 10 interceptions. Balanced Card offense and revenge minded defense is a lot for a tiger team to challenge.

Thanks Irish, I like to look at teams playing on their homecoming, AZ has a decent record straight up on home coming, but they have lost the last 4 out of 5. They will right the ship and get some revenge against the trees for last years loss. GL

1st quarter Over (13.5) W

Louisville should score on its first possession (Has scored in the first quarter 5/6 games). Memphis traditionally a slow starting team, will have to answer. If the Tigers do not answer Louisville will go for the jugular after last years 30 point loss to this team.

Irish thanks, looked @ that game long and hard and that 1 ? was the key for me.uab has lost their edge for the future.Tonight it comes down to ;many players back on both sides and the home team won last on the road & a 4 yr staff that beat a 2 yr staff last yr. like the home staff to prepare and do what they did last year.thanks again; this is what I'm looking for, we can pose a question and not take it personal and win some money.I would never tell you to change your bet but I think you should......

I don't take it personally, all here trying to make money. Still IMO the Cards have the overall better team and they will come in motivated. I think that Louisville's defense is VERY good and Wimprine has been known to make risky throws into coverage. As much as I respect the coaching staff at Memphis I have to think the offensive balance is too much for a Memphis team that CANNOT both cover WR and stop the run. Against Cincy the tigers focused on the pass and the running game killed them. AND the passing game was good for 3 TD's.

You made a good point the other day about how bad UAB is and yet Memphis lost to them because of UAB's passing game. Yes both loses came on the road and Memphis is a different monster at home but they really haven't been challenged at home and the Cards are road tested. Here is what I expect... The Louisville offense will be productive, because Memphis does not have a good defense. The question is will Memphis be productive on offense against the Cards defense? IMO they will not. I have to go with the revenge factor as well. I respect your play and wish you luck.

Cards/Tigers Under (61.5) L
See this game coming down to Louisville's defense. They should be up to stopping the run just as they were in Miami. Forcing Wimprine to throw could lead to turn-overs. Louisville also has the ability to grid the clock they can methodically move down the field.

I agree tonight Louisville knows they have to win big and wants to win big. Agree with you that the revenge factor is huge in this game
Good Luck

Akron (+8.5) over Marshall W
With out an interception returned for a TD, Marshall only beats Central Florida by 10 @ home. Road games against Ohio and Kent state were very close games. The Herd's defense is the strong suit on this team, Goddard is a monster on the D-line! The herd has to have it eyes focused a little bit on the Bowling Green game next week. The emergence of Bret Briggs has helped take some pressure off Frye. The Zips have had two weeks to prepare for this game. At home on national TV Frye has to step up and make some plays. With Marshall's struggles on offense this should be a close game.

North Texas (-2.5) over La-Lafayette WTalk about a tough game to call. both teams 4-4, La-Laff struggles against the run, N. Tex a dominate running team. N.Tex struggles against the pass, La-laff a passing team. N.tex riding a 22 consecutive conference victory streak. La-laff riding a 6 game home winning streak. The reasons for the Eagles are they do run the ball so well, and should be able to run against this defense. The La-Laff Coach provided some bulletin board material saying Freshman running back was only let intro the school because he was learning disabled. La-Laffs QB Babb is coming back from a injured back. He is also the teams leading rusher, not sure how the injury will effect his willingness to scramble. N.Texas Senior QB is not the best QB, but he is a leader and can make plays. Still IMO the N.Tex green machine has confidence going into this game. There is a lot of pressure on La-Laff and I don't think they will handle it well.

...no offense, buddy, but I think that my tigers were only down 2 at the half.... I didn't point it out to be combative...only to help you correct your record. I would have pointed it out if you had a winner marked a loser also.... I really enjoy reading your posts every week.... You and a few select others in here provide some of the best info on the net.... Keep up the great work.... :)

Not a problem at all. Thanks for the post, I was thinking that was the 1st quarter line post I won, but that is on the other page. Hope I have some "W" on the post tonight! ;)
