Updated Record: 42-31 for +34.0 units

Three plays today:

Baylor +140 (@ Texas) for 1 unit ? similar to my play last Friday against Texas. Baylor has the advantage offensively. Pitching is the key for Texas and they have good starters and relievers. But considering how weak their offense is (.288 avg; 5.4 runs per game), it?s worth playing against them when a good pitcher is opposing them. Kendal Volz starts for Baylor and is definitely a decent pitcher. His stats are a 3.57 ERA; 1.34 WHIP; .251 opponents avg. and 62 K?s in 68 IP. Texas starts Chance Ruffin who is a really good pitcher but him losing because of no offensive support will not be surprising.

LSU -115 (@ Arkansas) for 3 units ? LSU has the edge in offense, starting pitching and the bullpen. Anthony Raunado starts for LSU and is one of the best pitchers in the country. Raunado has a 2.89 ERA; 1.07 WHIP; .204 opponents avg. and 98 K?s in 65 1/3 IP. His only negative is the amount of long balls he has given up so far this year (11). The Razorbacks counter with Dallas Keuchel. Keuchel has a 4.30 ERA; 1.30 WHIP; .290 opponents avg. and 46 K?s in 60 2/3 IP. He is a decent enough pitcher, but not in the same league as Raunado.

Arizona St. -150 (@ Oregon St.) for 4 units ? similar to the LSU play above in that the Sun Devils have advantages in every area, especially starting pitching. Arizona St. will start Mike Leake. Leake has some outstanding numbers in a 1.54 ERA; 0.81 WHIP; .182 opponents avg. and 90 K?s in 81 2/3 IP. Oregon State hasn?t named a starter, but it really doesn?t matter as whomever they throw is not comparable to Leake. Arizona State has been one of the hottest teams in the country and it should continue in this series.

GL guys.

Two plays today:

LSU -120 (@ Arkansas) for 3 units ? Same play as yesterday as the series opener was postponed to Noon cst.

Texas -110 (vs. Baylor) for 3 units ? Big advantage in starting pitching for Texas. Cole Green starts for the Longhorns and has been really solid in his last few outings. He has a 2.66 ERA and 1.15 WHIP on the season. Aaron Miller starts for Baylor and I?ve written a decent amount about him this year. He normally is the Bears rightfielder and started the year as their mid-week starter. His been bumped up to the weekend rotation and has been sporadic the last couple of weekends. He has some decent stats (3.83 ERA; 1.28 WHIP; and 55 K?s in 42 2/3 IP). However, Texas? offense, while not being powerful, is patient and should be able to get on base one way or the other today.

GL guys.

The LSU game is being delayed. There was a planned doubleheader, so with this being the first one, they hope to at least get it in.
