Just curious if anyone has had any experience using various Weight Loss Supplements. I know Anthony a.k.a DR STRANGELOVE is into working out and stuff.

If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.
Considering ephedra-free Hydroxycut or Ultra Lean Extreme which does contain ephedra.

i agree, i'm against diet supplements because they could do some damage to your health. the best suggestion i have is exercise & watch your diet.

Adkins Diet is not set up for prolonged use. It can actually be detrimental to your health. You should consult a physician before starting it. I read a lot about diets, but I never go on them. I am no expert, but there are really just a couple of things to remember.

Eat less. Move more.

One diet that looks to be good and seems to have a plan for continued success (really where the Adkins fails) is the South Beach Diet. Like I said, I am no expert, so if someone knows that this diet is not good feel free to correct me.

Weight loss supplements are not a good thing. They can really tear up your liver. I bet fletcher has information on weight loss. He seems to know his fitness facts.

Good advice...

Good advice...

Besides a numerous other things in my career choices in colege and while coaching college football I was a persona trainer. ACE certified.

The simplest way I can tell you and what I told all of my customers, weight loss is not about dieting or products, it is about self-control and discipline..which is something most of us lack, which is also why Vegas and offshores make millions!!! LOL!

But to put it simply here it is:

3600 Calories make 1lb of fat.

Decrease you caloric intake by 1800 per week, and increase your aerobic activicites , or workouts etc. to expel and extra 1800 per week, and you will lose a pound.

Keep it simple, and be dedicated!!!

I don't want this to be construed as a sales pitch, but I think that this is the only way it will probably come across, and what I am going to tell you is 100% truth and will sound like snake oil.

About 5 months ago I had to take a physical for my Commercial Drivers License. When the nurse weighed me, I had hit my all time high of 215 pounds. So off to the gym I went and I got nowhere. After about two months of going to the gym and not seeing any results, a guy who I had done some biz with in the past called me and said he had something I might be interested in. So I listened to the spiel and decided to give it a go. Long story short, 3 months after taking this stuff, I am down to 192 and I am not even going to the gym anymore. I work for a small construction company in the field, so I do get in exercise during the day. After seeing my belt line shrink by two belt loops and seeing some results, I started reading about some of the other benefits that this product does. I started putting the gel on my receding hair line, and within two weeks, my hair started to fill back in. I also had read how the gel also works great for wrinkles so I started putting it on my crow's feet and after a month of doing this twice a day, they are almost gone. My dad started taking it and with in two weeks, the arthritis in his knees was completely gone. I know by now you are saying BS, but this stuff is pretty incredible.

Here is what it is and how it works. What it deals with is the "ph" of your body. Over 90% of the population is acidic vs. alkaline which in short means you are not healthy. The Adkins Diet is a protein diet which when ingested, the protein turns to acid, thus killing cells and putting stress on organs. All this stuff is calcium, potassium and magnesium to help in nuetralizing your "ph", and specially oxygenated water that puts oxygen in your blood stream. The oxygen will raise your metabolism and then in turn will help you lose weight. I could go on and on about this stuff, but I think you get my point. It isn't expensive, no more than a dollar a day, less depending on how much you buy, and comes with a 100% money back guarantee. I am not going to post websites or anything like that, and I know some of this stuff you aren't believing as I couldn't believe it when my hair started coming back in, but if you think I would post this and put up with the ridicule that will come if this wasn't true, you must think I am BTJ.

On another note, a friend of mine owns a race horse and we are filling him up with it and I will let you know when he is going to race. His practice times have steadily been getting better and should be racing in 2-3 weeks. We are going to give him a bath in it the morning of his race so hopefully he will be floating down the homestretch after having so much oxygen in his system

Above the Clouds....
Dogface pretty summed it up. Adkins works but it's really tough to stay on. Low carbs and after about 5 days I'm exhausted. If the supps were any good your doc would prescribe them.

FWIW, I'm on the Zone Diet plan. Already lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks(I know most of that is water). I truly believe in this diet(I go to it whenever I've gone on a binge, especially after football season). Check it out at perfectzone.com. I'm ordering their products monthly. Cheaper than eating out and ordering grilled chicken all the damn time.

GL with whatever you decide.

Great site to learn more abot your body with information that is easy to read and is important. They key truly is for most, more about BMI, than body weight. BMI essentially takes into account your musculature and its effect on weight (muscle has more mass thus weighs more) vs. typical weight by suggested parameters that do not take into account ones body type or musculature.

Healthy Body Calculator

Also if you are truly losing more than 2 lbs a week, you are doing something wrong. Water weight is the first to go, and gives the appearance and proof that weight is being lost, but comes right back after hydration. Long term wise it is difficult to lost more than two lbs a week, unless you make your system (body) more efficient which has age, etc. going against you.

Some tips: Don't eat past 6:00 in the evening, watch/limit your carbohydrates (Breads, Pastas, Potatos, etc.) Have a well rounded diet, and eat 6x a day. (2-3) of those times are snacking in between meals. (Vegetables, and fruit are excellent snacks!)

Hope this helps, and remember don't just take anyone's advice, research it yourselves. You are the one ultimately responsible for your own well-being.

The name of the product is called "The Masters Miracle". If you want some more info, get my email from Jack and put MM in the subject line and I will make sure I get it to you. It is pretty intertesting stuff. Once you read what the different ailments that are associated with being acidic are, I would bet you can relate to quite a few of them.

Great link Docter. I have a few people I am going to send that one to. Just reinforces what I have told them but they don't want to listen. Maybe they will now.

Dogface is right, more than two pounds per week and you are losing something you shouldn't.

Good Luck
