When something goes wrong with an appliance in my house - I always call someone and pay to have them fix it - but after reading your posts, I think I will try to check it out before paying out cash. Good post!

Joker,

you will be stunned at how many things you can fix around the house. The world wide web has made the obtaining of parts and how to do repairs a hell of a lot easier.

and you don't need to be a "Mr.Fix It" to repairs washers, dryers, disposals, plumbing and the like.

Heck you can builds decks and fences..

Our community reaches out to help each other with all these minor repairs and even the larger ones like re-roofing,hot water heaters, heating and A/C.

Very seldom do we pay those $50-$120.00 an hour repair guys..

We wish them all well and success but not paying someone that kinda money for repairs that can be done with a little bit of research and some sweat down the crack of my ass.

Redid my roof 8 years ago..Complete job..Roofers wanted..$5,000.00

22 squares..2 roofing guns..free use..

Laborers:wife,myself..and 4 neighbors..

Sat.Sun. all day
Mon.evening..Tues.evening.

DONE..$2,000.00.. Architectural shingles..paper..nails..and LABOR
including the disposal of old roofing material.

Ain't nothing to these jobs..

Except hard work..and a slight learning curve that in a lot of cases again the web decreases from the jump-street with how-to's and trouble-shooting hints.

now that can be a problem for some.

$2,000.00.....do it yourself :00hour

$ 5,000.00 pay somebody..:sadwave: :sadwave: :sadwave:

ps..:0corn not a single leak...including around the new Chimney Flashing

That's really cool OS, wish people out here were more like that. Maybe need to get out of the city for that kind of stuff.

it kinda comes w/the territory when ya live around me last 13 years.

when I gave up this:mj06: the amount of time to get things done was unbelievable.

Hard work is a great cure for what ails ya.
