it wasnt that long ago that weaver had borderline dominant stuff. seems many people dismiss the guy as a scrub who has no business shutting lineups down. but when he is on, he can be very very good. hes an absolute enigma because you never really know what youre going to get. but hes capable of of a quality start each time he takes the ball. i think pads still win this game. but wouldnt be a total surprise if weaver shut them down either.
Yes, but how rare is it when he actually does pitch that good? A lot of the time I have seen him he has pitched real good but has made some bonehead mistakes at critical times during the game. They took him out before anything like that could happen today.
