fletcher:

always appreciate your posts and insight.
was kinda surprised to see you on the rebs here. is there anything youve gathered locally that makes you like this one? or kind of a gut feeling play?

the rebels are one of my favorite teams to follow outside of the local ones here, and ive caught a ton of unlv games on tv this year.

do you think theyll be disciplined enough to cover this number?
my hesistation and initial thought was that guys marcus and dalron would be trying to "get theirs" and that the rebs would be kinda sloppy and not play together. banks looked crushed after that upset loss they had vs csu. that kid is such a player. im just worried that the rebs are gonna play selfishly tomorrow.

the most impressive thing about spoonhaur is how hes gotten unlv to play smart, in-this-together basketball. but i almost feel like that might go out the windown vs hawaii in the nit.

you like the rebs to have a focused effort, huh?
you could be right. on pure talent, it wouldnt surprise me to see vegas win the whole nit. talent-wise theyre that good, but are their heads in it?

Gut play most of the time this year after unlv would have a melt down in the 2nd half and blew a game , they had came out and played well the next game. the player said the were upset at tossing their dance chNCE OUT THE WINdow and winning the nit or at least getting to ny would make them very happy. If ,byu or wyoming would of been in that last game rebs would of been in. they have trouble at times putting two halfs together but they have a lot of tallent, just 2 real quick banks and johnson can play with any body just about from ay team. They can play very well at the t&m where it it a hard place to play the keep lights very dim and teams have trouble shooting there at times if they are non conf. teams. unlv should get home games as long as they win they had a 40 rpi and have shoot over 60% a few times at home.

they want the game been working hard and would love to make the trip to the big apple.

just because they lost they are still wanting to win and when you get a team that is happy to be at the nit they seem to do ok when they are home. they were 21-10 and are the first team in 7 years to have a rpi of under 45 and not go to dance. they knw they would of had to win because mtwest was not getting 4 teams in, yes they blew it but it was over when they lost and they knew it so was not shocked and think they can win nit so going with them sink or swim.

also the mtws is a hard conf to play in because of road travle and so many different elevations to play at.
so gut feeling, home court above avg players and wanting to be there was enough for me.

honolulu, Hi, USA
Also, just my $.02. Believe Hawaii will not have its "legs" and will be dead tired. Hawaii left for the WAC tournament at Tulsa on 3/10 and returned home on Sunday (3/16) late afternoon. Learning of their NIT invite, they had to turn around in less than 24hrs and left Hawaii on Monday (3/17). Add the fact that Hawaii plays poorly on the road and odds strongly favor UNLV. I only hope that UNLV's mindset will be on the game. Would love to see my Hawaii win but . . . I don't think it happens here. Got to go with my head and not my heart. Unfortunately for me, I see UNLV in a romp. Sigh!
