Now that I think about it, I think you are right BDB.

I dont think I have seen a smart move like that all season.

I feel bad for Westbrook fantasy players

How can you say that was questionable? That was quite possibly the smartest thing I've ever seen a football player do in-game. Going down at the 1 means they can take a knee and they have no shot whatsoever of losing. If he scores they go up 2 scores and, although it would take a minor miracle, Dallas would still have a chance to score, get the onside and score again.

I was just going to start a thread in his honor - not only was it a smart move, it was the classiest thing I've seen all season. He just earned my respect.

Your right Glenn. I posted afterwards and said it was the right move. Maybe I was in shock to see such a smart move in the NFL.

but if McNabb fumbles the snap on the next play and dallas gets it back down 4 with two minutes left, would you still be saying what a great play it was???

It's cool. And I wasn't posting that directly to you. I think I was thinking out loud to the announcers more than anything. :mj07: You could tell they thought it was a dumb move but they didn't want to say so on the air. Very crazy play though. I've seen players slide to stay in bounds and work the clock, but never to stay out of the endzone!

It was the right play IMO. If you're scared of your QB fumbling the football on a kneel down play, you shouldn't even field an NFL team.

I can't even remember the last time a team lost the ball on kneels besides in a movie.

I think both moves are ok. It's classy to see a player not care about his personal stats or the score. It was more satisfying for him to fall at the 1 and put the cowgirls in checkmate. Either way the eagles were going to win and it worked out fine for my pathetic giants who may not even make it in the playoffs now
