Any of you Bowling Greeners have any friends in admissions at Western?

My daughter is wanting to visit there this week and supposedly they have a program for ADD students, which my daughter has a slight issue with, but not bad. I have never visited the campus but will be there this Friday for their introductory campus visitation. She wants to go there next year (2010) so we are visiting there Friday, Kentucky Saturday, and Georgia next week. I heard the campus is really nice. Any thoughts or Grads from there?

Thanks.

I live in Bowling Green and I have a niece attending there - she is a Junior.

My wife and I live minutes from campus and she is an alum.

It is one of the best schools for Photo Journalism, nursing and secondary education.

If you need a tour guide - let me know. We would be happy to help.

P.S. SixFive also lives in BG - if you do come to town, we should all have lunch.

Thanks Nick,

We will be there Friday at 9:30 for the introduction to campus thing for 2 hours and supposedly have a tour at that time as well. I am sure you are working Friday, but would love to meet up and get a quick "inside tour" if you had time. Nursing Anesthetist is the plan she has and we are heading to UK that afternoon later. Get my cell from Jack and call me tomorrow if you are serious. What exit do you get off 65? I need to research the next couple days. Thanks again.

Chuck

1. Get off at Exit 20 - which is Natcher Parkway

2. Then take exit 4 - Turn Left onto Nashville Road

3. You will pass a church on your left
You will pass a Sonic on your right
You will pass a Dairy Queen on your right

4. Come to an intersection with Walgreens and Rite Aid on either side of the road ahead of you.

5. Drive straight - between the drug stores. Continue on through at least one stoplight and I believe the second stop light is the turn for WKU. You will see a sign for WKU made out of brick on your left.

4. Turn Left - at the sign. You will be on WKU's campus. If you have an iPhone or a GPS, you won't have any problem navigating the streets - not a HUGE campus.

I think SixFive and I can eat lunch - I have a very flexible schedule so I can meet up whenever....

I will ask Jack for your cell number......

Chuck, I used to know the director of admissions, but that was back when I went to school there in 1993. Bowling Green is a great community, and or course, it's a college town.

I graduated from the nursing program in 1993, and I have a pretty good friend who teaches there now. I can look at the staff list and see how many I still know if you'd like me to try to make contact with some more of them. She can get a fine BSN degree there, and WKU has 2 masters programs in nursing. One is geared towards teaching, and the other is for nurse practitioner.

I'm also pretty free Friday, but I don't know how good a tour guide I would make. The campus is so different than when I went to school there. It's really, really nice now, and they've added several buildings.

Keep us informed on your plans.

Thanks again, Clint and Nick, for meeting up with my daughter Hannah and me on Friday, Enjopyed lunch and she appreciated the input.

Went to UK on Saturday and she loved it as well. As you know, I am a little biased, but kept my mouth shut. Went by the old Delta Tau Delta Fraternity as well and trophy case had old Dad pictures from days as VP for 3 years and intramural championships. She just laughed. :mj07:

We had a great time and will keep you posted. She has applied and it will take 3 weeks to hear back, but she qualifies on all fronts. Again thanks for your time. :toast:

Well, need to change my Avatar soon since my daughter may be a Kentucky girl soon and she doesn't do those things. kurby kurby kurby :nono:
