Screw the NBA, hockey's were it is this time of the year!!!! game almost reminded me of years ago when edmonton put the puck in thier own net. Unreal. still one hell of a game. Go Oilers is all I can say. If this is a prelude to whats to come we can only hope for a 7 game series with the Oilers winning of course

Yeah, it was Smith. I remember when he played for the Hawks, whenever they would play at Edmonton they'd boo every time he touched the puck.

in person, AWESOME, one of the best specatator sports; on tv, it is worse than baseball.
disagree here 65 as i thought last nights game and game 7 of the ECF were both very entertaining...i could be a bit biased since i live down here, but i enjoyed watching it all on the tube...would have loved to have been there, but maybe a later game

The problem is no one watches. I was at a bar last night and they had several channels on including the Speed Channel instead of the Stanley Cup Finals.

I don't blame the bar. No one cared. No one cared but me and I live in a NHLmarket. A NHL market with a playoff team nonetheless.

I did ask them to change the channel which they did after a search for OLN. They didn't know what channel OLN was so it seemed that all season they have been watching drag racing and whatever else is shown on the SPEED channel rather than Hockey.

Hockey has a long road ahead to regain its popularity. A road that is longer due to a crappy TV deal with a third rate channel. This is the Stanley cup finals and it is on a network which boasts the Tour de France as its biggest ratings winner.

I watched last nights game on TV and my girlfriend was sitting by me while working on her laptop. She rarely watches sports or hockey for that matter, however I caught her glancing at the TV through the whole 2nd period. When the third period started she put down her laptop and watched the rest of the game. When the game was over she asked me when they play again. OLN is a horrible network, but a game like last nights will end up winning over more and more fans. It will be interesting to see how OLNs new network Versus does. I want to buy some stock in it.

it doesn't help that the OLN announcers are just horrible. Mike Emrick and John Davidson. 7 minutes left in the game and staal gets 2 minutes for high sticking, they go to a commercial, when they come back these two don't even know it. thirty seconds later they bring it up and edmonton scores to tie it. these guys were too busy talking about carolina. it was hysterical... do I sound bitter?

Didn't even catch until now that this is only being televised on OLN!! :wtf: How stupid is that? As big an outdoorsman as I am, I don't even have OLN, lol! That's going to be a losing proposition for them!

Shows how much of an idiot you are. North Carolina is filled with East Coast transplants. At least 1/2 of those there all grew up with hockey in their backyards, including myself. The Raleigh area gets more people from up north moving here than anywhere else.

I guaran-fuvking-tee you I know more about hockey than you any day of the week.

Grow up on skates in the NE? Maybe New England but not the entire "NE" give me a break. You talk about the northeast as if it was saskatchewan  I didn't know growing up skating on backyard ponds was a pre-requisite for being a hockey fan. I guess that means fans in Dallas, Nashville, Tampa, Florida, San Jose, Anaheim, East Rutherford, NYC, Philadelphia, Columbus, St Louis, LA, Phoenix, Washington, and Atlanta really aren't fans at all.

You are one ignorant phuk. A hokie calling NC the sticks? LMAO. It's good there are people out there like you that think NC is like that...keeps the state moron free.

Oh wait, now this is the part where I say you must like to screw sheep since you are a hokie fan. You might enjoy life more if you get past the stereotypes.

I know that the people in Dallas/Fort Worth dont know crap about hockey and only go to the games when the Stars are winning or when the Blackhawks or some similarly shi tty team is in town so they have a better chance of seeing a win. Of course dont forget, the DFW fans are some of the worst if not the worst in the nation. Been here ten years and have yet to pay full price for any ticket to any game at any time. Went to Denver Dallas monday night game and sat on the 40 yard line and paid 30 bucks a ticket. Went to Stars game against colorado got in for ten under face........then had to sit and listen to some idiot in wranglers and a quilted shirt tell his gal pal that apparently forgot to give the big girl cowboy outfit back to the Glamour Shots photographer that icing was when the puck goes to high for the other players to touch it and they get a penalty all the while spitting brown saliva through his quickly decaying teeth into a G W Bush commemorative rock glass............unreal.

I NEVER CALLED ANYONE FROM "THE STICKS" IGNORANT
I said they dont know hockey
BIG FREAKING DIFFERENCE
North Carolina is a fine state and has fine people but they dont know hockey ike we do..
How many rec leagues are down there? how many rinks are down there? how many players hail from down there?
Know more about hockey than I maybe but doubtful? what level did you compete up to? Hows North Carolinas hockey team? BC made it to the finals (again) I grew up skating every sat and sunday and have followed hockey since I learned to skate with a pylon. I live in Mass why are hockey players in the US in the NHL from here? (Minny, Mich and CT RI Wisc too) Because we live love and played the sport
and it pets to live my dream of pisses me off NC gets to live my dreaam of the Karmanos Whalers (his kid got his eye carved out at a minor league game, met him at a Harvard/ BC game.. Beanpot .. heard of it??) winning the cup
