One of the saddest experiences in my life up to this point is to witness the disappointment in my 6-year old daughter?s face when she did not receive her request from Santa. We went to Six Flags on Sunday, December16. She sat on Santa?s lap at Six Flags and told him she wanted a toy whale. I did not take that as serious because she just got through watching a show on TV about whales. What kind of crappy request is that? Well? She opened all her gifts, but all the while she was waiting to open a present with a whale. I did not recognize any of this until she asked me if there were more presents. I said there are still more in the stocking. She poured the entire content out of the stocking but did not find the toy whale. Then she said to me, Santa Claus did not give me a toy whale. That was when my heart sank. How can I not take her seriously when she did tell Santa what she wanted for Christmas? So all the clothes and all the big toys meant very little to her. But here is the best present I got. I explained to her that Santa gave her the little unicorn instead because there were millions of kids out there and he got confused with all the different toys. She is an angel because she accepted that and played and enjoyed the rest of Christmas day with her unicorn.
