I have been utilizing the bases forum here at jacks for several years, without question it has been helpful in winning money. Its difficult to think of much to make the site better, because I feel it is probably the best on the net. I did however think of this idea and wondered what you guys thought.

Bases is a long marathon season, sometimes do to time constraints etc. people can't handicapp 15 games, it takes several hours.

However with members across the country in virtually every city, what if people wrote a brief breakdown regarding the team they follow closely.

Bobby although I don't know him, already does a fantastic job doing this regarding the White Sox. If your thinking about playing the w Sox this summer you better check his thread first. Living in Chicago and following the game closely obviously he has a advantage handicapping w Sox games.

These breakdowns generally would include what the club did the night prior, w or l?, are coming off travel. Who pitched in the bullpen? How many pitches?? Relevant injuries or streaks etc. and then obviously information regarding current game, pitchers era' s, whips, injuries, hitters vs.opposing pitcher etc.

I would be happy to cover r Sox if this is something that would seem beneficial to the forum. Generally watch almost every game anyway. Don't want to speak for him but I know cooz would be happy to help me with r Sox, and I'm sure most cities are represented by a couple guys in the forum anyway.

I just thought this might be a way of doing something else beneficial to what is already a successful Forum, let me know what you guys think.

barring burnout, i will be able to post bullpen usage and expected usage gameday if that will help...

also if we could have someone track, starters w/l record in regards to 3/4/5/6 days rest..we will find patterns that would be of help...

just a couple of things of the top of my head....

ie, honestly I hadn't thought of a entire new Forum. But if that's what people want, I'll be happy to help. I was just thinking of containing everything in 1 Thread. Ideally you would have a thread with 1 response for every team playing that night.

Bullpen numbers especially from previous night are important, as well as forecast probable pitchers for that night numbers, whips, injuries, streaks, pitcher hitter matchups.

I just think if everything was in 1 spot, whether it be a thread or Forum, things would be much easier. Ideally people that aren't polished handicappers could get the idea on vital statistics and what to look for from other more experienced handicappers. As people learned they would post more relevant important information & also learn more about handicapping.

Every major paper has a round up for major League teams in their sports sections, people could even post links to these. Just thoughtful, but I think it might be useful.

basically Embree, who has had a horrible spring, only one worse has been Foulke. Second lhp in bp was the final cut on the team. come down to Bobby Jones who has looked pretty decent 10.1 innings work 10ks, 1.74 ERA. Tim Hamulack will probably be option to AAA Pawtucket, although he was decent and this spring, 11.1/3 innings work 10ks, 2.38 ERA. Hardly household names however. Sox really were impressed with a kid Brooks (lhp), but since he didn't make major League roster he had to be sent back to Pittsburgh.

I don't know how the people can capp more that 2-3 games, but I definitely respect those who do and win consistently. You have such a great advantage by watching the games as the out of town newspapers go to press before they have a chance to get the information out of the lockerroom.

Local information is what makes the baseball forum my favorite.

Jon Garland?? Shhhhh. Been riding his ass for three years and that MF'er owes me some money. He will definitely be the most profitable of their staff. Loaiza's done by mid-May, Buerhle's gonna start auditioning for the Cardinal's stretch run by June, Frank goes 0 fer just one time in the clean up spot and the whining won't stop 'til he's traded. Hoping against hope that I'm wrong and the Sox show up this year, but I have the feeling that in 10 years I'll be looking back at 2003 as the Sox's glory days.

Loved the bullpen stuff you did last year on Bestbettor, IE. It would be much appreciated if you could do it again next year.

Bobby , lets hope Ozzie has a shorter fuse with Koch this year so not too cost those games....the 7,8,9 innings for the chisox are going to be interesting this season...
