Talk about an all-time union failure.

We won't take a 20% pay cut.

Okay, well, how about a 100% pay cut. Bankrupt. No jobs.

Dumbasses.

I also love that they are called "Bakers" and have a "bakers union".

Bakers as in....dump 10 bags of X, 10 bags of Y, repeat.

Bakers :mj07: :mj07:

Obama promised to cut the national deficit in half by the end of his first term instead it has increased more than during the tenure of all presidents in U.S. history combined. He promised the 'Affordable Care Act' would save thousands of dollars for each American per year, instead it will cost each American thousands of dollars more annually. He promised no new taxes period - yet he has added the two single largest tax increases in U.S. history to middle class Americans. And now that the election is over and the unemployment numbers temporarily went down by 3/10ths of one percent...the flood gates have opened and more layoffs, bankruptcies and unemployment are coming if he continues as he has promised he would. To date - we as a country have yet to pass a budget. He was unable to pass a single budget during his entire first term and did not even garner a single vote for his economic plan.

One has to wonder how such a candidate could have won reelection, do you? And this doesn't even touch on his foreign policy including Benghazi and throwing America's ally Israel under the bus. We the people are still waiting for a response since last week's attacks upon civilian targets.

Company sells a shitty product and doesn't update their product selection for modern times, can't execute on a sale of their assets and goes bk.....and then blames the union.

Anyone here willing to take a 20% paycut? Could anyone afford to?

I would rather leave than take a 20% paycut

Maybe those that can't understand this don't really have any discernible or marketable skills. That's the only way that it makes sense.

And they weren't making money hedgey, but you knew that

Hostess Brands and the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers' International Union agreed to mediation on Monday, according to a tweet from CNBC. The agreement will reportedly prevent a Hostess liquidation, which the company announced Friday could be imminent.

The Bakers' Union had been fighting a proposal to significantly cut worker pay and pensions, and Hostess claimed that the striking workers made it impossible for the company to produce its products.

More from the Associated Press:

Twinkies won't die that easily after all.
Hostess Brands Inc. and its second largest union will go into mediation to try and resolve their differences, meaning the Irving, Texas-based company won't go out of business just yet. The news came Monday after Hostess moved to liquidate and sell off its assets in bankruptcy court citing a crippling strike last week.

The bankruptcy judge hearing the case says that the parties haven't gone through the critical step of mediation and asked the lawyer for the bakery's union to ask his client, who wasn't present, if he would agree to participate.

The case is being heard by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Southern District of New York in White Plains, N.Y.

HOLD THE PRESSES !

maybe there is some room for twinkies in America afterall

Seriously what the fuck is wrong with you? If your boss came to you and said you have to take a 20% paycut would you take it? No, you wouldn't. Well maybe you would because you don't have much talent. But most people would tell them to stick it up their ass.

Do you know how many cupcakes a 20% paycut is?

If they told me the alternative was they would go out of business I would say fine do what you need to do. Take the cut, then start actively looking for a job while I was at least still collecting a paycheck.

The economy is so awesome I am sure most would have had no trouble finding work:0074
