I know this is not a pick. But for best input believe it better here then in the General Forum. Can we get some input on what we have learned so far.
Miami is better then maybe first thought?

Detroit is real Bad.

Cinn is As Bad.
Houston can beat both?

Jacksonville maybe a surprise if they stay away from injuries.

G Bay Defense is playing real bad. But GBay can score. OVERS?

Denver is on a mission. But Q B, play must get better.

San Diego may be one of most improved. Wait thay played Cinn and Houston. Lets not say that yet.

Buffalo boy some Off's power there. OVERS?

Minn same thing Off's little Df's. OVERS?

St Lou. the good teams have found away to beat them.

Oakland till old guys get tired are strong.

Pitts Df's needs some fast work.

Jets lucky first game and then real world game to town.

N England the real deal.

Seattle will be better with Dilfer back?

Carolina is not really that good.

Ok folks lets have some your thoughts.

Have to disagree here. Much has been made of Dilfer's impressive record as a starter, but most of those games were when he was with Baltimore...a team he could score just 13 points with and still win. Seattle defence is light years behind where Baltimore's was and I think this is really exposing Dilfer's mediocrity. Granted, the guy is a bit hobbled right now with his knee injury, but I still don't see him rising above the badnes of this Seattle team. Their rush defence is the worst in the whole league right now. Seattle is quietly stinking it up out here in the west. Please everyone, don't overestimate this team!

Agree with the most of the rest of your thoughts djv.

and the Dolphins!.... they look to be balanced on offense and fairly solid on defense. Edge cut them up at times, but did not really break. Time will tell since they were benefitted by turnovers yesterday and a bad Detroit team in week 1.

What about the G Men?? They have played 2 teams who have been struggling offensively but they have been making tackles, by that I mean 1-on-1 in the open field they are taking their man down. No missed tackles and no one is getting run over. Kenny Holmes is playing the way they expected him to last year -- which is a good thing for Strahan -- and the secondary is young and talented. they tackle the way you are supposed to -- they wrap you up and take you down and they do it in a punishing style aka Ronnie Lott. Of course, I am a little biased.:D

Oakland, NE , Denver and Miami are the distinctive class of the AFC, with not only 4 wins but somewhat easy covers. With the Rams recent performance, I think it will be awhile before the NFC finest come to the top. That said, I think any four of the above mentioned AFC teams could win the NFC fairly easily.

Also, I haven't seen this type of scoring in the NFL for a long time. It won't be long until we start seeing 50+ totals on a weekly basis. Roll, baby, roll...:bigun:

M J, I just did not want to say anything bad about your Ravens. They put alot into a nice two year run. But now they pay for it. And yes NYmess your Gman are playing well. Your getting good QB play to go with that Df's.

Nice thread djv,

Your observations are pertinent and to the point.

I'll throw in some observations on the Chiefs that I feel are relevant.

One highlight for the Chiefs has shored up their wc corp and have increased overall team speed. A trait of Vermeil's he promised to bring.

All that is negated by Trent Green. He can't find open receivers down field, panics and throws into double coverage. I think he led the league in int's last year, already has 3 in two games.

Holmes/Richardard combo at rb is very strong, but they don't use them enough.

Defense is horrible! They should be 0-2 right now, with NE & MIA on deck. Two each, games, with OAK/DEN/SD. A long year for these Chefs.

Super Bowl

Super Bowl

The AFC will be giving 7-10 points in the Super Bowl. New England, Denver and Oakland look awfully good. Gruden should have stayed in Oakland. That Tampa Bay offense is still terrible.

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned New orleans.2 pretty impressive wins over Tampa and Green Bay.And then that brings us to the Bears.I being a fan have to admit that they are the luckiest team so far in the 1st 2 weeks.played 2 poor games in a row and are 2-0.If they aren't better this week the Saints will win easy:rolleyes:

In reguard to the Seahawks, what is going on with Shaun Alexander? I mean, he has 70 yards in 2 games? Hopefully getting their pro-bowl LT back will help him, b/c I really thought he was going to be a stud. I guess well see.

I don't think Houston would beat Cincinnati any more than 3 times out of 10. Detroit and Houston are the two worst teams in the league , with Baltimore a distant third.

Philly this year - 6 very good quarters, 2 lousy ones.

Saints have become a faster team.

Denver, Shanahan is a great H.C.

Falcons, impressed how Reeves has them playing so far.

Rams, you put the pressure on Warner, you can beat the Rams.

This year is wide open for a S.B. winner!

Valuist,
I thank you for some faith in Cincy but, trust me after 11 BAD years I think Houston would at least make it 5 of 10!!!
Mike Brown (the Owner) strangles every head coach out of their job with this Cincy team:mad: It's truly bad and SAD:(

G. BAY and Rams

G. BAY and Rams

The Packers, because of Brett Favre, and Rams, due to recent play, are "over bet" and thus "over valued" by the public. The lines-makers know this, and usually give the opposing teams some extra points in the spread. Giants last week +12.5?

Good case in point is last weeks GB at NO game. GB has a bad record in Domes.

Also, Rams offense, so awesome over the last few years, has finally been caught up with by defensive co-ordinators around the league. Similar to the K-Gun offense and Jim Kelly a few years ago in Buffalo. It took 3 or 4 years, but the defenses finally figured out a way to slow it down. This has now happened to the RAMS offense, as evidenced by last years Super Bowl, and the first 2 games this year.

We were sharing some good ideas. Thought I would bring this back up so we can do some updateing. Some of my first thoughts seem to be correct. Some so/so. We have had a chance to learn a few new things.

Det is still bad.
Cinn is still bad
Both are trying with new QB's to show some improvement.
Houston has some D but little O. If there D wares down by middle of season they will be in bigger trouble.
Balt is showing some life. If there D can stay off the field with some help from there O. They will be good dogs. Not sure if I would lay many points with them just yet.
Jacksonville remains a surprise. If Brunell goes down there done.
GBay for Overs and it seems to be staying thay way.
Denver QB play good enough for them to stay on there mission.
S Dego is improved as first thought. But Denver did show us they still have some work to do against the better teams.
Buff lots of O contiues Overs.
Minn Is screwed up good. Best to watch them a couple games to see what's up.
StLou Seem good teams for sure have found away to beat them. Could be the bad ones will give them trouple to if fav's.
Oakland is playing very well. Old guys still hungry and not tired yet.
Pitts D stills need work.
Jets are in big trouble.
N Eng now finding out how SB winner gets treated.
Seattle will start to improve from here out.
Carolina I still think are not that good.
KCity the new St lou. Looking that way. Overs
Miami playing well.
Chigo has the bad breaks going this year. Last year they got the good ones.
Dallas will surprise a few times. Just a few.
NYG hard to get handle on. You think there so/so and they are. But there D plays well. There O has some good times. But there coach plays it close to the chest.
Well guys how about some of your updated thoughts.

New England is definitely NOT the real deal!!!

Also, mark my words, you heard it here first!!! Oaklkand WILL NOT GET TIRED!!! They want a ring and some respect. Furthermore, they still have a chip on their shoulder from the infamous tuck rule. I think they have put it behind them, however, they are still pissed off and they are taking it out on the rest of the league!!!!!

There will be no slowing this team down!!!!!kurby kurby kurby
