Before signing a bill into legislation placed it on a website for US THE AMERICAN PEOPLE to chime in on read and remark about it. Instead of sneaking around and letting us know SOME of the bills and keeping most of it under wraps until its too late and already signed. I heard of this idea and said WOW, thats actually a great idea, not that it will or wont stop the bill from being put in effect but to actually FEEL as though we MEAN SOMETHING in this country again would be cool. Its like corporate America makes all the decisions anymore and we just jump in the soup line and take whatever the splash on our tray.

Jer it would be just like Cspan. These politicians couldn't careless what we thought unless we donated a large sum to their campaign. I have a better idea. Get rid of congress and just have a president and vice president. Then put up the bills and let the people vote for it. Then make sure you have the death penalty in place for anyone caught manipulating the vote. Good way to get rid of some neocons. 5 week vacation coming up for congress. They must be exhausted. 5 weeks:mj07: . Ya got to love it. Nice health care plan they have also. I hope they can fix social security and maybe raise the age to 80 while they make sure they get theirs a tad eariler.

yup, the information is there, just most people couldn't be bothered looking at it.

the thing is, 20% of the country is politically interested and curious... but those people typically are already either solidly democrat or republican or third party.

the other 80% don't pay much attention, except for a pet issue or two that they care about. they just don't care, or don't understand, or both.

I pay a fair amount of attention to big issues, but honestly local politics are much more interesting to me... obviously they aren't worth mentioning on madjacks, but with local politics your voice is a lot stronger and your vote a lot more powerful.

you can actually change things on a local level.

Not sure the average american is smart enough--not that politicians are--saw obama speaking at meeting bring up exxon just having largest profits ever--natuarally the audience all booed exxon and cheered obama but as with obama they don't realize if you have largest corp in the world and every company made same % profit they would have the largest profit.
Its the imp leading the lemmings--had to just shake my head and ask myself the only question that still puzzles me about obama-are his lips blue or gray:shrug:

There are plenty of very large corporations in this country, and elsewhere. It's not (IMO) important THAT the company is making so much profit now, it's how and why they are making so much profit now. Of course, the other large corporations don't have so many people in positions who can help them get to those profits - and therein lies the rub.

It's completely appropriate for Obama to point out Exxon-Mobile and the record profits they have been making for quite a while now - because it is definitely linked to the political and economic decisions, policies, and positions of importance that are directly linked to this administration. If it weren't that way, then they wouldn't be making such record profits - as we have seen for a long time, and you will always bring up when pressed about big oil profits. Exxon-Mobile and the other oil companies are profiting to the levels Obama refers to specifically because of politics. Fair game - you can't have it both ways, although you want to.

Too bad the American people, and others, have to pay for those record profits and the decisions this administration and it's supporters either subscribe to, or let happen out of ignorance or caring more about other things.

I'm not blanketly liberal, or even democrat. My most intense problems and concerns regard this administration, which I think has done a lot of harm to this country, and also to the conservative movement. I don't blame republicans or people who think that conservative themes are the better way to go - in fact I agree with some of them. But this administration has gone places where none before them have gone, and I have real concerns about the motivations and end results of what they are attempting, and accomplishing.

In many ways, I don't even blame Dubbya for much of it. I honestly don't think he has the intelligence or business acumen to be too ingrained in the initial thought processes that the other close members of his group engage in. But he certainly is a big part of all of it, whether he even knows it or not. All IMO, of course.

DTB's biggest concern is the color of OBama's lips. Honestly Wayne, could you please post your college essay on the genetic inferiority of black people? I think it would be an insightful read.

Thats just the ignorance and insecurity these JERKS live with DAILY!!
