A conservative is someone who is trying to preserve something he was against 10 years ago.

Anyway, I used some of my "influence" to back a local candidate from Riverside and some others who wanted to break into that board and reform it. It was the 2003 election. A lot of them won, but they really weren't able to make any headway into all the waste on that board. I've been out of town and thus out of the loop for two years, so I have not been watching. But, I often wonder if that gang has had any luck reforming that board. The guy in my town was Anthony Peraica, a republican. Cant remember the other new guys names off hand, but it was across the poilitical specturm. If they all ended up as douches, then I am the fool for writing stories about a corrupt, careless and clueless board and penning a couple of editorials whose basic theme was vote any of the incumbents out in favor of new blood. I am sorry for that if that was the outcome. But, boy oh boy, did I take all sorts of heat and threats for writing some of that....lot of battle scars there, but i loved every minute of it....it was the essence of journalism

I think you could post : what is a liberal .... most of us are not text book conservatives or liberals .... most of Americas conservatives and liberals have more in common than not... the text book left and right is what gets in the way of progress, common sense and progressive ideas... The question should not be what is a con or lib but what is an American that wants a better America. That other stuff like your title is anti American BS fostered by our lack of leadership, enhanced by our media. The perfect example : in the last rebuplican debate.... first of all they didn't ask huck or paul enough questions.... what ??? the media has decided that the American people only need to hear from mitt & Mc ???? the only good about that dog and pony show was hucks closing and pauls rant about mitt and Mc squabling about who knew what when and said what when about a war that we should have never been in. The far left and right issues are just smoke screen BS ... Bottom line it, lets get back to the money.. The biggest smoke screen is immigration.. If we inforced the laws in this country it would not be an issue. When was the last time some guy came over our border and took away from the American people more than your congressman or senator take from you ? We should put an electronic fence around washington so that we can keep our jobs and wealth here in America. We don't need a fence to keep people out ... Put the Americans in jail that traffic these people for profit and put the Americans in jail that give them jobs when they get here and it's over. I say let them come if they want to work . This is America, that's what we are supposed to be about.. Go to work and get yours.. To many of us , sitting our our ass crying about who's taking whats ours..... don't look at the guy that risked his life to get here for a job most of us don't want or won't do... Look to your leaders in Washington that sell your ass to the highest bidder every day. Sit back America and allow these silver spooned elitist to **** you in the ass with out a fight... That's what you are doing. I'm sick of people that don't want to fight, don't want to work but think they are owed something... In any fight you have to identify the advisory.... Get by the smoke screen people and go to war... Not like you have to get violent, all you have to do is vote smart. We can't do any worse. WE gave them Billions to defend us and they couldn't.... the Dollar is shit. your house isn't worth shit...education sucks... forget about our food and drugs.... We should hold experience against every single one of those fu-ks in whashington... I'll take huck, paul and ob and turn this country around in a heart beat. mitt can go take a shit off an exxon oil rig in the china sea.... Depending on what your definition of is, is, he and hil would be great for America.
