Heaven, oh!!, this isn't it?!
Anyone ever owned a restaurant. A local Pizza chain went out of business two weeks ago, and no one has shown interest yet. I have access to the capital required, but I'm very hesitant to move forward with it. Just curious if anyone else has had any experience with a commercial restaurant chain.

JP,
Forget your golf game if you get into this :scared

I work for the state of New york as a Correction Officer. My schedule is pretty awesome. I work 4, 16 hour shifts (my midnight shift and my swap partners afternoon shift) then are 2 regular days off and then he works for me. So i work 4 doubles and 8 days off. I get a vacation every other week. Great health care benefits and pretty good pay. (After a year Ill be at
42k) which is good compared to the amount of work I do.

ronnie and 2much, sound like you guys have a pretty good thing going. so do the rest of you guys and maybe i sounded a little salty but i was just trying to figure out where everyone was at.

i dont have a bad job, my commute sucks but i also have some pretty good perks. selling insurance, thats something i could never do, no offense agent - but give you credit for it.
i underwrite extremely large risks for the largest companies in the world. not primary insurance but high limits, catastrophe type risk. anytime you see a large accident, train, bus or building collapsing, wherever there is large amounts of property damage and bodily injury, thats the insurance or reinsurance that i write. we sit on top of the 1st dollar insurance carriers until their "aggregate"-total is exhausted, then we kick in. its basically sleep insurance for major problems - and believe me all the companys out there have it and protect against those type of things, if they didn't, even the biggest companies would be in trouble because accidents do always happen. so i dont write houses burning down but a warehouse burning down and 10 people inside that died, thats what i do.

anyway, its friday night and dont want to bore anyone about insurance but thats what i do. do miss being able to play golf during the week, or go fishing or traveling, sure - but i also need to pay the bills.

have a good weekend
