'63 Corvair

In the mid-60's, I took my girl to see Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh.

On the way home, the engine fell out of the car.

my worst car was a 1962 powder blue ford falcon..with a stick on the column.there were a few times the car wouldn't start....it would start, however, if you tried starting it while pushing it.

sometimes i pushed it with the drivers door opened...& as i got the car rolling i would jump into the drivers seat & start the car up...& it would work.

buddy,

didn't the corvair have a push button transmission ?

1978 Scout International.
Entire outside of it was bondo
When I bought it, I had to take scrap metal from the garage and a blow torch and weld a floor together so I could put a front seat in so I did not look like the Flintsone's heading down the highway.

But I could go muddin and 4x4ing like a champ in that sucker.

I just can't stop laughing at that one.

Marine, bitch all you want about the body and floor, but that thing ran like a mother ****er I'll bet! Had one as well, you just couldn't get it stuck anywhere.

Still laughing Buddy.

My parents had an early 80s (I think) Plymouth Horizon.

One morning while taking me to school, my mom got pulled over for speeding and the horn just started going off and wouldn't stop. The cop let her go with a warning because he felt bad for her. Either that or HE was getting embarrassed to be seen by our car!

Mine has to be a 1985 burnt orange Chevy Citation. I bought it new and it sat in the driveway about 10 minutes and my 5 year old son accidently knocked over a ladder and put a big dent in the side.

This car was a pile of crap. Never started in the winter and the AC did not work in the summer.

I traded it in after 3 years of frustration. On my way to the car dealership to pick up my new car, the brakes literally fell out onto the street. I drove that bucket of bolts about 10 miles an hour to the dealership and flipped him the keys and drove away in my new auto.

That was one of the happiest days in my life getting rid of that lemon.

pengy,
darn right about scout... mine had 200,000+ miles on it, my dad's had 358k on it, and his other scout had 260k+ miles on it.

I got it stuck in the mud ONCE. that was it.
And it was stuck so bad that when the tow truck showed up and ran a tow line out to me and tried winching me in... I ended up pulling the tow truck in.
You really had to work to get a scout stuck.
