everyone has watched these games and watched Louisville play....everyone has seen the great defense and their very impressive run through big east tourney and ncaa tourney.....but the line is 9 points and with what seems like 60+% on Louisville, the line isnt dropping.
Louisville is not by any means a team that has an easy time scoring....pair that with Kentuckys great defense and you have missed shots and transition opportunities for Kentucky where they are better than anyone at.
so what is Louisville going to do? decide to send 4 guys back instead of crashing boards on offense? they are a pretty good offensive rebounding team but will they abandon that and get back on D to prevent Kentucky any run out opportunities?
I dont think this game is very high scoring, and I think how they call this game is going to be a big deal. Louisville is very frantic on defense and shows a lot of pressure and if they use their hands too much, Kentucky will be on the line all night. If Dieng gets in foul trouble, again, big time trouble for Louisville.
I think they let them play at least in the 1st half...I dont think they want to make anyone sit early with foul trouble, and I would say that helps Louisville.
I also think that Pitino will play some zone and confuse Kentucky early. They struggled vrs zone when Vandy switched up on them in the SEC championship. I think Louisville has a great chance to be up early and even winning at halftime. Pair this with the possibility the youth of Kentuckys guys might make them a bit nervous or shaky early and I think Louisville is a good play in the 1st half.
That being said though, it would not surprise me if Kentucky wins by double digits because Louisville will NEED to score to stay in the game....I dont see them holding Kentucky under 30% shooting from the floor again
