Upstairs watching sports on the big TV.
Thursday nite I was at the Main Street playing a slot I like a lot.

About 9:30 pm I tried to cash out my $326.00 ticket and received an error message,"system failure, wait for hand pay".

I pressed my service needed button and waited and waited.

10 minutes goes by, nothing, virtually no floor people to be seen.

It turns out that they had a network failure and EVERY slot device that issued a ticket was not functioning.

What compounded the issue was there was no announcement made, and more and more people unaware, started playing, adding more people needing hand pays.

Got paid after an hour and a half wait.

I saw several people leave the casino with some money on their machine.

One fella ran up to the casino rep and said he was late for work, could you please pay me my $40.

They told him "we will get to you when we get to you"...he won't be back.

I asked what would happen to the money left by people who finally gave up...."Casino keeps it"

I told the flunky what I thought of the badly handled situation, and suggested they give everyone affected a free buffet for two coupon for the inconvenience...they really missed a good PR opportunity.

Back in the late 70s I was standing in line to place a football bet right behind a Woody Allen trench coat wearing character. He put 30 grand down on Phil -6. Well I decided to follow his lead so I put down a thousand on it. It won.

The End

Baccarat at Casino Niagara in Niagara Falls, Ontario......33 "Players" in a row. Casino lost 100's of thousands of dollars in under an hour, at least.

After the races in Indiana one night I saw a drunk harness racing driver take a piss in the middle of the slots area. That was a bit different

First Harness Race I ever bet at Scarborough Downs, my horse comes out of the paddock....I'm excited and standing along the fence to get a good look at him....20 yards away to horse falls, deader than a door knob.....they come out with a fork truck and take him away.....On the bright side, I did get a $2 refund on my Show Ticket.....:0008

Florida dog track log time ago

After a day of watching and betting Jai alai, yep, Jai alai, went to a dog track with a buddy.

Watching the mutts parade before race time, an ugly, ugly mottled dog
took a crap that would have made a proctologist proud, I ran in and bet him to win, paid 6-1.

I remember thinking how good I felt after clean pinching a good size loaf, and I figured he was a pound lighter.

A drunk guy walks up to the craps table the other night. His turn to roll, so he puts 30 green chips in a spread out fashion on the field. Pit boss tells him he has to stack it. He clumsily does. He's standing on the Stickman's left and he rolls harder than shit to the left with his right hand. "No roll!!!". He gets told he has to roll the other direction. He does the same again. "No roll!" His pass bet gets taken, dice moved, 6 rolls he loses. He throws about 400 on the table and says field. "No bet!!" Shooter rolls a 3. No pay, cash doesn't play has to be a chip etc. Drunk complains, wants to bet, they tell him it's break time, shooter rolls a 2. Keeps arguing how his money was taken, shooter rolls a 12. Security is called, he keeps arguing and throwing his money on the table. Dealers keep handing it back. Action stops for 20 minutes while he argues. He finally walks off with the pit boss. "Why you take my money and then I bet again and it hits 3 straight times!!??" :142smilie
