Ralph Nader Opposed the Invasion & Presents a Plan for Peace and an End to the U.S. Occupation of Iraq

Kerry/Bush: Stay the Course

Nader/Camejo: Get Out Now...Responsibly!

September 9th, 2004: Widespread media reports, circulating this week, of the 1,000th US military fatality provide the American people cause to reflect on the human toll of the Bush administration's rash and deceitful gambit of preemptive military intervention. At this time, the Nader/Camejo Campaign would like to reiterate its longstanding belief that the attitudes informing US foreign policy require sweeping overhaul. Milestones such as that achieved this week must be avoided at all costs. Please take the time to acquaint yourself with the measure of American sacrifice to date. (Source: New York Times)

The quagmire of the Iraq war and occupation could have been averted and needs to be ended expeditiously, replacing US forces with a UN peacekeeping force, prompt supervised elections and humanitarian assistance before we sink deeper into this occupation, with more U.S. casualties, huge financial costs, and diminished US security around and from the Islamic world. The faulty and fabricated rationale for war has the US in a quagmire. Already more than $155 billion has been spent, adding to huge Bush deficits, when critical needs are not being met at home. We should not be mired in the occupation of Iraq risking further upheavals when our infrastructure, schools and health care are deteriorating. Four years of free public college and university tuition for all students could be paid for by $155 billion.

Nader-

Building on his call for the impeachment of President Bush and Vice President Cheney, Independent Presidential candidate Ralph Nader today is calling on Members of the House of Representatives to begin an impeachment inquiry to investigate two distinct impeachable offenses.

An Impeachment Inquiry is the first step toward considering Articles of Impeachment. During an Impeachment Inquiry the House would investigate whether there are potential impeachable offenses.

Nader on health care

Health Care for All

The state of health care in the United States is a disgrace. For millions of Americans it is a struggle between life, health and money. The Nader Campaign supports a single-payer health care plan that replaces for-profit, investor-owned health care and removes the private health insurance industry (full Medicare for all). This approach is supported by Physicians for a National Health Program (PNHP); the American Nurses Association; the U.S. Labor Party; the California Nurses Association; the National Association of Social Workers; the Associations of Physicians Assistants; and the National Association of Midwives, among others.

That's just a small sampling.

I don't agree with much, or even most, of what Nader stands for, but you'd have to be insane to think that conservative/republican voters would be drawn to him.

Wow Matt sure is a lot to follow there--

All you had to do was explain "IF" Nader pulled votes from Gore-

then WHY did Bush do better on exits polls on question when voters were asked who they'd vote for id only Bush and Gore were running.

--and I'm still waiting

--and remember if what you say is correct--and considering the exit poll results--
--the only logical conclusion is what I said prior--Doesn't make squat to some what platform people have--you could run Homer Simpson they will vote for him. :)

Wayne,

If i'm not mistaken, and i'm not, you made a living out of mocking exit polls during the course of the 2004 Presidential elections.

And now you want to buttress your insane argument that Nader would draw more republicans than democrats based on an MSNBC exit poll? What happened?

I guess we'll just agree to disagree on this.

You are mistaken on exit polls--I have constantly referred to them basically because they are the only post election stats in town--and given the choice of deciphering #'s vs opinion--I always opt for the stats--however have used CNN exits poll vs Msnbc and their #'s are indenticle in this case.

--but have in addition results showing Dems voted Nationally by margin of 2 to 1 for Nader vs Rebs

Party Identification All Gore Bush Buchanan Nader
Democrat 39 % 86 % 11 % 0 % 2 %
Republican 35 % 8 % 91 % 0 % 1 %
Independent 27 % 45 % 47 % 1 % 6 %
http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2000/results/index.epolls.html

Have I convinced you yet--or are you still inclined to believe they voted bush by 80/20 margin:SIB

Ralph Nader received around 100,000 votes in Florida in 2000. How many of those votes would you figure would have gone to Gore as opposed to W? 80/20? Something like that, for sure. Probably more.

Wayne,

Are you reading the same thread as me, or am I losing my mind? The above is what I posted earlier.

According to your own exit poll, Nader pulled 2% of the democrats and 1% of the republicans. If Nader was not in the race, where do you suppose those 2% of those democratic votes would have gone? They would have gone mostly to Gore, who only lost Florida, and the election, by 550 votes or so.

Your chart proves my point perfectly. While 2 to 1 may only translate to 66/33, it ain't all that far off from my off the top of my head estimate of 80/20.

Where in the world did you get that I said that Nader voters would have voted for Bush, if Nader was not involved? I said exactly the opposite.

Touche--your not losing your mind :)

There are 2 scenerio's the vote -with nader in and vote if nader had not been in.

The exit poles shows without Nader in- Bush got higher % of votes.

The exit poll with nader in shows 2% and 1%
