Why does it always seem that once people get power they always shoot themselves in the foot?

The US was on a nice roll up until 1990 or so. Since then I dont know what has happened,

I know there are alot of wannabe religous quacks in the US. Whats the %%.

Greedy scheming CEO's and Corps, Banks, Gov't.

The average man just has to pull his weiner and say 'honey wheres the remote?'.

And the worse part is other countries feel the pinch. Even though they have done nothing wrong.

Can the US rebound. I hope so but I dont think its possible.

Only a moron or an insider would invest in the stock market ever again. Its a scam. And its Americans killing Americans.

What has happen? Fox News and nitwit neo con radio started flourishing and the neo cons found a big batch of monkeys to go along with their agenda. A huge batch of simple minded monkeys. Then after a solid eight years where nobody was complaining, the President shamed the office by getting a blow job and people couldn't be happy with a solid 401 k or working every day and decided his sex life meant more to them and those monkeys became very mad. They were so mad that they even were willing to givie up 1/2 of their life saving as we speak, to show how mad they were. Then you throw in the neo con agenda. And agenda talking about going to war with Iraq even before they were elected because they knew in there lying little hearts they were gonna rig an election. Then these neo cons came to office and began dismantling every thing for the working man and spending us into huge debt where there is nothing left for this country mean whiile they made out like bandits, as the simple minded monkey's still cheered them on. All of this while the Democrats played enabler, letting them get away with it. Now we have a new president in office for about 15 minutes and these same Monkeys have been convinced (or told) that this new president created this huge huge ditch he is trying to shovel out of. What is really confusing about these monkey's? They remind me of the guy playing basketball who gets beat every single time by the same move down at the offensive end and has no ability to make an adjustment. They just get fooled over and over again just like this basketball player. Bout sums it up.

Its time for the United States to stop taking care of everything happening around the world and put that money into everything US. Why on earth are we propping up dirt hut countries when we are struggling to take care of our own issues.

In one word - PRIORITIES

I know this is a simplistic view but in all honesty I think a simple approach would do wonders.

Exactly, why are we giving aid to the Gaza strip?

And its not just dirt hut countries we are propping up ...we are sending money overseas to countries that in some cases are better off than we are. Its also past time to start collecting worldwide on some of the debt that other countries owe us.

Lol thats one of the funniest lines Ive ever heard. The US owes most of the world trillions and trillions of dollars. Im not sure Im aware of 1 country that owes the US $$. I know Canada doesnt. Anybody:shrug:

I strongly believe ethics and morals need to be tightened. ALOT.

You guys just love letting in illegal immigrants also. Thats a recipe for disaster. As proven by Miami and California.

I hope it all changes and gets better. Doesnt matter how powerful your army once was. The rest of the country needs a massive overhaul. Start spanking kids again,

RE:

Around the world today people are observing the Transgender Day of Remembrance. The remembrance began ten years ago in November to honor and remember Rita Hester. Rita was a member of the transgender community in Boston, where she worked locally on education around transgender issues. On Saturday, Nov 28, Rita was stabbed 20 times in her apartment. A neighbor called the police and Rita was rushed to the hospital, but passed away from cardiac arrest only moments after being admitted. Ten years later, Rita's murder - like most anti-transgender murder cases - has yet to be solved.

The problem with the US is an overwhelming lack of personal responsibility within Americans.

The more I think about it, I guess our government is doing a fine job of showing people it's okay to not take responsibility. Like when they bail out the banks, the automakers, homeowners who bought homes above their means. I guess when your govt doesn't make people take responsibility for their actions then no one will.

My dear Saint:

Let's look at a few facts logically. First of all, I do not like the bailouts. I thought let them all go bankrupt, thats what those laws are for. However, the more I think about them, I'm not sure.

It is for greater minds than ours to determine if there were alternatives to the bailouts. I think the republicans are opposing it for political reasons. Why would the democrats bail out the banks? I mean its not like the banks, bankers and their employees are left leaning liberals likely to vote democratic?

Same with AIG and Bear Stearns. Insurance company and investment house are big time republican supporters. I think their respective failures would have such far reaching systemic effects that could have caused total melt down of our economic system. They had to be bailed out. No private buyers.

We are back at the root cause of the problem, which, in my opinion, is that we don't make anything anymore and we are living on borrowed time. I don't think Obama or anyone else for that matter will be able to save this country as long as people work for $1 a day in Asia or Africa and we have a population of 300 million dependant on a service based economy.

Answer: benevolent dictatorship (Eddie in charge) with sunshine everyday and everyone beautiful and prancing in fields or total authoritarian rule (Wayne or Dr. Freeze in charge) with everyone chained together in tatered clothes, wandering aimlessly, with volcanic fire spewing ash with red cloudy skies overhead.

APATHETIC MENTALITY

thinking like this is the problem... what ever happened to family, friends, mentors, professional colleagues ,teachers, the list is endless.... this is that APATHETIC MENTALITY..... looking for government to take the lead... THE BEST PART OF AMERICA IS OUR PEOPLE..... NOT GOVERNMENT... I know the person that needs to read this won't...... He sensors views / blocks them out; like some fascist governments that suppresses IDEAS & CRITICISM... A problem with America is : Americans don't act or think like Americans any more...

Maybe because increasingly everyday their not:shrug:

In my book this is not an Ameircan response.. You are either an American or you are not... Anyone can be one...It's not where you are born or who you parents are or were, it's a lifestyle, state of mind, something you claim... There are many people that are born in this Country, by people that were born in this Country, that don't live up to that....
