I'm heading out to Boston next week. Can anyone give me a few ideas on where to eat and what to do?

I'm already down for a game at Fenway and pizza night at Regina's. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank You!

Just a few Ideas that were fun for me. Enjoy.

definitely check out the freedom trail and see where your freedom developed from. Long wharf, ROWES WHARF, Quincy market, try to catch outdoor concert at the tent on South Boston waterfront. Newbury St., Copley Place, Harvard Square, Castle Island.

Enjoy your self

Thank you all for your replys.

DR. thanks for your greeting. I stopped gambling some time ago, but I can always come in and say hi every once in awhile. Hope all is well with you!

Laythewood, my friend there just mentioned today about some italian place on the north end. It is supposed to be great!

Shamrock and turfgrass, thank you for your lists. I'll make every effort to hit those spots.

Simon, sorry for my ignorance, but what is the "big dig"?

Hogman, I'll be staying in downtown Boston.

Thanks again for all your responses. I'm looking forward to a good visit.

Freedom Trail and Quincy Market for sure. Loved both! I didn't find Cheers all that exciting. It was ok I guess, but nothing like what you see on TV.

Also got a chance to see a Whalers-Bruins game in the old Boston Garden...some 350+ minutes in penalties. Really fun. :)

If I was going back I'd have Fenway high up on my list (was just there the wrong time of year last time).

*Check out a game in Fenway
*Eat at Faneuil Hall (Quincy Market), then walk over to the North End for a cannoli at Mike's Pastrys. (this may be what your friend was referring to)
*If you're a fast learner, utilize the T. If you're like me, and still haven't figured it out after 23 yrs, take a cab ;)
*There is a huge diff. between the Regina's in the North End, and any other location (Faneuil hall most notably), so try to hit the one in the North End
*The Big Dig is the largest highway construction project in history. It will put most of Boston's traffic underground, making everything more efficient. It is millions of dollars over, and was supposed to be finished in 1999 I believe. (Projected finish date, 2007 last I checked)
*Don't want to steal BTJ's thunder, but Legal Seafoods is excellent seafood. Plenty in downtown Boston.

Hope that helps a little

EMJ32- A bunch of us girls are "supposed" to go to Boston in July 10 or 11 of us bachalorette party , I 'was' really into it , untill I realized it was the weekend befor the monday that starts the democractic convention :( That didn't bother me untill the reports of terrorist threats..................

Yes I'll admit it, I am a chicken shit and would rather stay home than leave my kids motherless. I know it sounds crazy, but these reports freak me out.............

I was the girl at the hardware store last year or so who bought up the last of the plastic and duct tape for my windows and vents , (fletcher was even going to send me gas masks) you should have seen the look on my husbands face PRICELESS when he came home from work that day and walked in our bedroom  every window , vent , and crack was sealed up . I drug 4 , 5 gallon water bottles upstairs , had batteries snacks , canned goods, flashlights , candles you name I had it in there...........MY HUSBAND LAUGHED so hard at me I cannot even tell you..............Needless to say when I decided it was safe again, when removed , the duct tape took off half of the walls and the intire master bed room and bath had to be painted :D

Anyway I hope you have a good time;) and if any of you need a room sealed off , I'm experienced:D
