What?s the catch here, guys?

I was searching for a small getaway and found this seemingly great deal.

$249 per person package includes round-trip airfare to/from Dallas, ground transfers, and hotel lodging for 4 nights at the Don Laughlin?s Riverside Resort & Casino in Nevada. Airfare or hotel alone is more than $250.

Has anyone heard of this outfit?

Thought we'd take the kids for Labor Day weekend to look at new homes. The Riverside seemed like a good family place. It was full of the trashiest people we'd ever seen. Toddlers running through the hallway, spilling food; mothers leaving dirty diapers outside the door, teens hanging outside the rooms yelling in Spanish. The rooms were very high price, had to kill a few bugs, but the river view was nice. Went to the buffet and ended up with the runs all night. Gambled alot with the players' club card and when we went to see how many nights would be comped upon check-out, they said they don't do it that way...that on the NEXT trip, they'd see what they could do for us. No way, no next trip.:nono:

Rooms seemed to be overpriced and they charged me $2.00 for a bottle of warm water in the room. World famous "losers lounge"? Yeah right. I think there were 2 fights in there the same night and people said "This happens all the time."

Last impression again was valet when the attendant rolled his eyes at me when I asked for change for a $5.00. They couldn't even open the passenger door for my wife whose hands were full of luggage? Get some class.

Do yourself a favor. Stay at the Ramada or Harahs. Much better staff, service and everything else. Never again, Riverside!

Last Visit:November 2006IT SO NASTY,DIRTY PLATES,SMOKEY,DIRTY ROOMS THAT HAD A TERRIBLE ODOR,WATCH OUT FOR THE BUFFET FOOD MANY IN OUR GROUP SICK.WE WERE LATER TOLD WHEN I TOLD THEM OF THE SICKNESS"I HOPE YOU DIDNY EAT AT THE BUFFET"WELL WE ALL DID,SO SICKNESS WAS EVERYWHERE.STAY NEXT DOOR,WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY....

Last Visit:April 2007The service and people were rude and not polite at all. I stay at the Riverside alot and everyone we encountered this weekend was rude. For one example I called the Prime Rib room wanting to make a reservation, the person on the phone said that they did not take reservations, then when we went down to the restaurant they asked if we had a reservation. The person at the desk said she would not have said that they were not taking reservations. We went to wait at the Hide-a-way.When the names were being call we just hear___ party of 4 and when I went to find out the name, she said "Does it look like I would have called your name.-Really nasty. When we finally were sitted the waiter was rude. This happened on Saturday and the service just went down hill from there. But even on check in on Thursday and walking around the casino, the people were not even smiling and very rude.

Like I said before I am a frequent guest of the Riverside and I will guarantee that the next time I will concider staying and playing someplace else.

If they don't like serving customer's then they need to find another like of business.

If you are a player with history at a Harrahs property ANYWHERE, airfare and hotel are an EASY comp. See the flight schedule. There are charters leaving from many areas. I was visiting a friend in the Carolinas and went here completely comped. I am NOT a big player either. It's not Vegas but there are many casinos and for me, a welcome break from Atlantic City. However, no flights leave from the New York area so I usually go when I'm visiting friends down South.

No catch......they just figure if you're from Dallas, you just don't know any better.
