1. Hoosiers
2. The Natural
3. Chariots of Fire

That's the answer if we talking about traditional, feel-good sports movies. If we are talking about the three best movies that involve sports, then it is this:

1. Caddyshack
2. The Big Lebowski
3. Raging Bull

"the bunker"
the gambler.....ok,maybe not a "sports" movie in the traditional sense, but, caan does maybe thee most perfect joe frazier/muhammad ali shadow boxing impression ever...and he`s just flat out brilliant in it..... it`s a great movie on so many levels and stands the test of time....

generally don`t like sports movies, but there was an oldie that i saw as a kid that was pretty darned good...it was called "requiem for a heavyweight" about the seamier side of boxing back in it`s heyday.....with anthony quinn, jackie gleason and mickey rooney(the mick is still kickin`:0074 )...a bit over the top(as with most sports movies) very grim, but some excellent acting...it was written by rod serling(twilight zone)....

1. "Bobby Jones Stroke of Genius." Jim Caviezel stars as golf legend Bobby Jones, the icon who retired from competition at the tender age of 28, never turning professional. He played as an amateur his entire career never collecting a pay check. Winning the Grand Slam, the U.S., British, and Amateur Opens in golf, a feat unequaled even today.

Shortly after retiring from competitive golf in 1930, Jones had plans to construct what he hoped would be the ultimate golf course. When an undeveloped tract of land became available in Augusta, Georgia, Jones knew immediately he had found the future home of his course. Although Jones had a vision for what Augusta National could become, he enlisted the expertise of one of the game's greatest golf architects, Dr. Alister Mackenzie. Mackenzie would later call Augusta National his "best opportunity and, I believe, my finest achievement.".

2. The Natural

3. Raging Bull
