1. miami- until someone beats the defending champs, they're my #1. hell of a schedule though.
2. oklahoma-even though i bleed burnt orange, ou's d might be better than last year's, and that's scary. not sold on their qb situation, and they need to develop a running game.
3. TEXAS- sorry for the all caps.....no question the most talented team in the country, but can simms win a big game? had them number two last week, but they lost their stud tight end(scaife) for the season, and i think that will hurt em some.
4. tennessee- this offense might shatter records this year. love their qb clausen, d has some ?, but who's gonna stop that offense?
5. florida st.- bowden will have this young team in another major bowl this year. team started to jell at the end of last season, and you gotta love that team speed on d.
close calls:
colorado
florida
georgia
sleepers:
marshall- i know they aren't much of a sleeper, being in the top 20, but after that first game against vt, please someone tell me who's gonna stop that offense? but then again, can marshall stop anyone?
oregon st.- should be 3-0 when they play @usc. a defense that returns 8 starters and was very stingy at the end of last season, could have this 5-6 team from last year getting maybe 7 wins this year.
