I have a total bitch against the NCAA and how they select sites and where teams should go for the NCAA Mens's tourney. Ya'll can jump in here and give your 2 cents worth anytime and it's appreciated!

First most, if you have a region that's the SOUTH, why do you put 4 teams in Portland, Oregon or Seattle Washington, representing the opposite coast/region when you have a regional in Jacksonville, Fla which is in the South?

You have 4 regions and you have 4 #1 seeds, all 4 of those seeds should go to the region that is closest to them in my opinion, one to save on travel costs and two to give those teams a reward for being named a #1 seed.

Also you have 4 play in teams right? Why the hell would you not have 4 teams play for the 16th spot to play the #1 seed, instead you have a #11 seed with two teams having to play that out for the 11th seed spot? That makes totally no sense at all.

The extra teams that are added to the field of 64, all should have to play for the right to make the #16 seed spot in my opinion.

We all know that the NCAA is all about the all mighty dollar and not common sense and every year they screw over teams.

Yeah, we know they have to have good TV ratings, this and that and all that other BS, but we now have 4 different tv stations, all on cable, except CBS, that have opening round games on them, many pretty close to the same game start times, etc. We know the NCAA won't make money unless they have tv contracts and the tv stations ain't gonna make any money without any advertisers.

The NCAA needs to be disbanded and the people who know basketball need to be the ones making the selection sites well in advance and orchestrate the sites to blend in with their regions, for example, you have the East region and the finals will be played @ Madison Square Garden in New Yawk! Then you should have the other regional with 4 teams to be in close approximation so that it makes easier travel to that next round site. And so on and so forth!

What do you think?

Just my 2 cents!

NOT DOING THIS MAKES NO SENSE AT ALL....HOW DO THEY EVEN DEFEND IT?

Georgetown as a #4 seed makes absolutely no sense. It's as if the committee hasn't watched a game all season. Ha. It's comical. They didn't even make the final in the big east tourney. Very odd.

So. Cal
Because the auto bid small conf wanted guaranteed bids vs 8 teams sliding into 4 bids...and I think having last 4 at large playing into 2 bids is fine. ....make them earn their way in

As for teams in south region playing in Portland. ...changed to a pod system years ago vs a fixed bracket specifically to reward teams to play closer to home in first 2 rounds.

Good pts ya'll!!

Here's some food for though: Harvard #13 seed (academic school) vs #4 UNC (academic fraud school)

#11 seeds having to play in? Boise St & Dayton? These two could beat UCLA who got an 11Th seed!!

BYU/Miss both 11 seeds to play in? Another doesn't make sense selection, both of these teams can beat UCLA with no trouble.

At Large teams getting better seedings or worse seedings: #10 Ohio St? Really? #10 seed and you give Michigan St a 7 seed? Ok. Purdue was only a 9 seed? They will probably crush Cincy in the first round, 9 over an 8!

Iowa got a 7 seed? They are that much better than Purde and Ohio St and Indiana who's a #10?

Texas gets an 11 seed? HOW? Texas A&M, Richmond, Murray St, Temple all could beat this Texas team!

Teams to watch: #3, Notre Dame could reap havoc on the Midwest Region and can matchup with their leadership and shooters over Kentucky. UNI brow a #5 seed? They could have easily been a 3 seed but Oklahoma playing in the mightly Big12 conference losing to ISU twice gets a 3 seed? WTF!? Oregon #8 plays in Omaha (Dana Altman old stomping grounds at Creighton and Beatrice, NE) vs Okla St who was 18-13 and got a 9 seed? Really!! #9 LSU vs #8 N C State, Tigers match up well w/Wolfpack, NC State guard play and 6th man, Anya are huge differences here and they beat Duke, UNC both on the rd in the ACC!! Georgia @ 10 seed could be very dangerous in the tourney with a healthy lineup for once and they gave Kentucky fits a few times in both matchups.
