My Grandfather and Grandmother on my dads side were from Armenia. My Moms side is from Rome, Italy. 50% Armenian and 50% Italian. I always had a great mix of foods when I was growing up.

Dad was 100 percent Italian,,Mom was 50 Italian and 50 Scottish,,,the 'family' didn't like the fact she wasn't 100 percent Italiano and it was very evident.

Not the one in Ferndale. Years ago when we lived on that side of town they use to be on Maple btw. Livernois & Crooks. Pretty decent except their Kibbei Nayyi ( raw). My favorite dishes are Kibbi, Grape leaves, M'jadra. My cousin just turned me on to Brigette's Cafe in Clinton Twp, the best so far except for my grandmother when she was alive.

I had the Kibbei Nayyi last week for lunch, medium hot on romaine leafs instead of bread..........awesome.
Can't go wrong with that as long as it's fresh & not gritty. I have to have my Syrian bread with it so I can scoop & eat.
