119 Soldiers now dead since that great speech on the Carrier by Mr Bush. Smiles every where. Then we had flags waveing bands playing when the 8 POW's came home. Photo shoots for the Pres with the troops every other day. Now silence as the body bags come home. No one there to give thanks or wave the flag. No photo shoots. No Pres anywhere in sight to say our heros have come home to rest. Nothing. Thanks to MSNBC and CSpan news for at least covering some of the returning heros. Fox and CNN they have done nothing. I didn't expect Fox to they have there orders im sure to keep saying all is going well. But CNN has turned chiken chit to. But hey no big shots showing up so why should anyone else.

so, DJV, who looks good to you for 2004? I'm no Bushian (is that a word??), but I do think he has done better, much better than Gore would have. I don't agree with you too much, but I do respect you.

As far as the war coverage, I think the networks don't cover it as much because it is not in demand from the viewing public.

I posted on here a long time ago that the cleanup phase that we are in now in Iraq scared me much more than the actual "war". This guerrilla warfare is a tough thing to fight (in their minds it is a guerrilla effort). Look back in history at what we did to the British, what the Spaniards and Portuguese did to Napoleon, and what the French did to the Nazis. It's demoralizing and very costly in lives lost.

Retired General C Clark. Dam good man. But he would have to run as a Independent. They dont win the white house. He's as good or better then any of the Dems running. If they were smart they would all back him.

I may close my eyes and give my vote to Bush for a second time. But the next 12 months will tell me if I should go another way.

djv,

why do you like clark?

haven't heard him take a stance on any issues. just hear him criticize bush, which is his right, but what's his stance on taxes, on how he would handle the war on terrorism, etc.?

Is there anyone running on solutions on how how to improve things other than than using platforms on what is wrong.

Economy: won't get it cause I don't see anything a politician can do--greenspan has more influence there.

War: Have seen no platforms on a more effective way to run it.

Healthcare: Anyone wanting gov ran health care is asking for big trouble.

If anyone has platform on deleting --send us your poor ect on statue of of liberty that would be move in right direction.

or---as we can learn from the past--I would vote for someone wanting to build wall, similiar to great wall of china around U.S.
What we'd save on healthcare, welfare ect of illegals would more than foot bill to build it and think of all the construction jobs that would be created that would produce tax revenue not drain it.

DTB I here what your saying. But we could start with fixing our highways and bridges that need repair now. Problem is feds are not uping the money for these projects and the states dont have any extra either. As for health care ran by the feds. We have it for the 65 and over gang. I just dont know if it could work for all of us. We do need a new tax system. The one we have does not promote growth. Never has.
