I would agree that Obama often does not take a strong position, deferring some of the heavy lifting to other party leaders. The thing is, people criticize him for not leading or putting out strong positions - and those people would be the first to rip them apart and be critical of those positions - and he would be publicly attacked by the talking heads that dominate our political discourse for many people these days.

But if the point is, he should take a stronger public position - I agree. I think he's losing support from his own party and supporters.

The guy tried to take a strong position right off the bat with healthcare and his very own party shit in his face. Not saying you Chad but a lot of guys get on Obama but realistically how can u do anything when u are dealing from the position of weakness? That is the difference with the two parties. It only takes one sentence from Republican leaders to get every Republican on the same side of a vote. Now the Dems have most of them on their side but just enuf on their side to screw up everything. If Obama didn't compromise nothing would have gotten done. To me that would have been the way to go. Just let those five or six Democrats screw up everything and let the public see it. Unfortunately i think only about 10 percent of the nation even cares about politics.

How did Boehner's bill make out? Oh yeah, they couldn't vote because he can't get his own party behind it. So just what is the Republican Plan you are so much in favor of?

Cut, Cap and BALANCE was PASSED Steve, they need to STOP negotiating with their OWN PLANS.

Democrat Senate just put something together, sounds like it won't make it out of the Senate.

Thanks Skulnik...StevieD makes it pretty easy doesn't he?

The Obama was just on TV again. For his last two speeches the only plan he had was for the American people to tweet and e-mail their congressmen to, "keep the pressure on." Fantastic!!!

As an aside, I will admit there is bias in Fox News as right after today's speech, the next shot was of a potted plant...not kidding. Biased but, exactly the right metaphor.

In the shadows

It appears to me that SSD is making a point here

Somehow the smartest man in room has allowed that point to fly over his head.

He is too busy insulting people and attempting to make them feel inferior to his ALLEGED SUPERIOR INTELLECT :nono:

Not everyone can be a career desk driver for the government and hold such a superior divine outlook on everything.

EVERYONE BOW YOUR HEAD AND KNEEL WHEN OUR LORD MUFFINS SPEAKS !

REMEMBER HOW MUCH HE WORSHIPS THE FROGS !

Amazing ! The similiaritie in this video of muffins and the caped crusaders, huh :mj07:

I'd like to know why the Treasury Dept and the White House are calling the big banks, sovereign funds and other countries telling them that the US will not default yet in the press and on the TV, the White House and Congressional leaders are telling the US people that unless this deal gets done, the US will default?

There is enough money coming in each month from FICA to cover the SS payments.

Besides, the FED could raise $500 billion in emergency cash pretty easily which would definitely get the US into 2012.

Reminds me of the TARP and Stimulus and Healthcare Act - where our politicians put the fear of GOD into the US people - that they had to act or the world would end. And now, right on cue, Pelosi is out there saying that the Dems have to save the world from the GOP budget.

What a crock.

He was thrust into office with a huge mandate. He campaigned on change. The American people threw the Republicans out in record numbers. The first thing he did was try to be bi-partisan. Why? We had just voted the stiffs out. He has been a major disapointment. I agree, it's time he grew some balls.

Stevie you have busted your butt to get ahead-worked hard-own a home and have had some bad beats --and I'm hoping things turn around for you.
