The wife and I went to El Dorado about a year ago and I would recommend against it. I understand they have done an update to the property since we were there but we were less than impressed. If you like Mexico we would suggest the Copacabana. Very nice, clean, quiet, and affordable.

If you feel you need to spend more, try Aventura Spa Palace.

Good luck and congratulations!

FYI, Apple Vacations has very reasonable rates.

bases,

i'm getting married next saturday and we're going to aventura spa. we booked our trip about six months ago and got the 7 day package for $3,300. i think 5 day was about 500 cheaper. i had some friends that went there and they loved it. but, i'll be getting my first impression of it this time next week.

Mexico is the only way to go!!!Only 3 more days and i will be drinking many cerveza on the beach........I got married on new years eve but never got a chance for the honeymoon part:brows:

Seriously CANCUN is the way 2 go!!!

Golden Crown Paradise 7 days $2400 for the all inclusive is hard to beat.....plus it is ADULTS ONLY;)

Buddy, you don't know me and I don't know you but I'm in the travel biz and I would encourage you to spend a bit more and book the Moon Palace as Thunder has stated. If not the Moon, please check Bahia Principe Akumal(not Tulum). Between these 2 resorts, I've done very well, booking many couples(including many honeymooners).

If you haven't made deposit, please look at these 2 resorts. El Dorado Royale is okay but this is your honeymoon. The Moon Palace is the "bomb" as they say. Their beach ain't great but the monster pool with swim-up bars makes up for it.

I have a couple that won't stay anywhere but Bahia Principe Akumal. They stay there at least 3 times a year!

Sandog is also correct that the Golden Crowne Paradise is very nice. Good location in case you want to experience the Cancun strip and at the same time, no kids!

Don't hesitate to ask any more questions. I enjoy helping out any of my Madjack brothers!

Congrats!!

Aruba was fun!

But for a Honeymoon, my top two choices would definitely be St. Johns (USVI) or Jost Van Dyke (BVI)!!!! :drinky: :142hump: :shade:

Coincidentally, Kenny Chesney and Rene Zellwegger just got married in St. Johns.l

Getting married July 2nd and honeymoon to follow in Playa del Carmen, Mexico (Mayan Riviera) for 10 nights at the RIU Palace.

Have heard nothing but good things from a few people I know that have gone there as well as from reviews on tripadvisor.com

That is a source you may want to consider before booking as well as you get many various viewpoints on resorts and you can make a better informed decision.

Cost was $1900 U.S. per person for 10 nights. So for 7 days it may be within your budget and I think you will be more than pleased.

Hey Nole, not to hijack the thread, but the wife and I are planning a trip to Hawaii in Nov. Any suggestions on which islands to stay on? The only catch is we have to stay where there is a Marriot as the wife has racked up a lot of points so we will be using those to pay for the room.

You can get my email from Jack if you want to do it that way.
