---Headlines Pelosi Visits Troops-- yet I can't find one paper or news station showing her or Murtha among troops--I assume it was for their own saftey. :)
Can anyone find any they'd like to share:shrug:

So far they been visiting with leading politicians of Iraq. I hope they are telling them to get there chit straight and start taking care of there business. Hold up there end. Other wise we are not hanging around much longer. Much better then photo ops waving getting on and off planes like Cheney and Rice. But wait hold on sooner or later that might happen here to. Witch means zero.

Thats all the photo's I've seen also-DJV--odd I think but understandable--would be curious to reception they got from troops.

Hopefully the troops are not as gullible as you and can see thru a little i mean a lot of bullshit. I did hear once that all they were allowed to listen to was you boy Rush's show. Why would this be?

Before leaving for Afghanistan they had breakfast with troops. Still no photos that I know of. I'm sure same normal photos they all get when visiting i guess called the set up drill. However I see Bidens been there 8 times and once stay a week. I don't remember anyone but MSNBC report that. For sure H/C and Reilly would not have. By the way this is not her first trip. It's her first as majority leader. Funny how some stations are even leaving that little twist off.

So by that logic and based on your history of photos with politicians, that means you'd prefer to wake up next to Dubya?

Serious question, Dogs (or for any ex-military):

Do you actually show different respect to different American political leaders? And if so, why would someone like Cheney get more respect than someone like Pelosi? What is it about Cheney that is more deserving? (I'll leave Bush out of the question because I think the president always gets top respect from the military, no matter which party).

Is that B's as someone said really 64 years old? If so would say she is hanging together. Not the best but as old as I am. If she wants a role. I'll take it you get hard up at 65. :142smilie
As for troops if it was a 21 year old Miss USA. They be coming in there briefs.:mj07:

no, not directly... but on a larger scale.. group psychology type thinking... the men out there will be more likely to look up to and respect someone that is male, and older.

its just the way it is.

take men at the 3 star level and/or joint cheif level. nearly all of them.. with the exception of Gen. Krulak (USMC) have been phyiscally imposing characters. which troops automatically feel the need to look up to.

Marine - would this apply if (hypothetically of course) we had a woman president? Or does the title of the highest office overwhelm gender at that level? I would like to think the level of respect for president would be the same across the board.

Smurph-- You picked tough one when you picked Cheney--He is more of behind the scenes person.

My thoughts would be from troops prespective the only acolocades he would receive is out of respect for being VP.His personality does not show much emotion. Troops have uncanny ability to detect genuine emotions.

My opinion would be GW has very genuine feelings for troops--Cheney I get more of feeling he looks at things from statistical views--thats the impression both leave me with.

Pelosi goes in with entire deck stacked against her--comes from district where they try to kick recruiters of campus--and no secret her stance on war--when member of miltary -their were 2 sorts I loathed--thosed that were clueless about military yet tried to make decisions--and those with Patton mentality--that had clue but made decisions not based on casulaties but on their own advancement or ego.
