To me, it is more offensive to be characterized by your place of birth, or the region of the country in which you reside, or the religion you practice, than it is to be called a redneck, or a spic, or a Holy Roller.

So, you telling me I'm dumb because I'm from Alabama would likely offend me. Whereas you calling me a redneck would not. For the record, I am not from Alabama.

I AM from Alabama and I will be willing to put my families education and employment up against anyones:shrug: Having a southern accent and traveling all over the country with my jobs, I have been fighting this opinion of southerners all my life.

I compare being called a redneck as a southerner as to black people being called the "n" word; it seems to be ok if you are one but not ok for someone else to say it:shrug:

And YYZ:thefinger You had to put one of Alabama's finest in that picture:mj07:

I don't think i ever called anyone a redneck in my life. Now fluff some of the brightess people i know still can be gullible. Maybe its because some people take advantage of ones kindness. When i say someone is naive or gullible i do not in any way say that means dumb. It means they have limited street smarts or common sense.

agree with dunclock. I don't really get upset with being called a redneck or hillbilly unless some wannabe elitist gnp yankee like sponge is calling me that. Then, it's on.

Six five if a Yankee walked in a bar filled with Southerner's, the Southerner's react like we are still having the civil war. When a Southerner walks in a Yankee bar the Yankee will usually buy him a beer.
