Wow, nobody mentioned SNK Baseball Stars for Nintendo....Classic....You had to play the Lovely Ladies over and over again to make the 25,000 a game just so you good afford good players when creating your own team....Super Mario World and the Legend of Zelda(both the original and the first one for Super Nintendo) were also very good

Alot of folks mentioned Galaga, anyone remember GalagaIII?
This was my favorite, it was similar to Galaga, but there were different aliens to shoot. The big deal is that instead of just left to right movement you could also move up. Once I played that it was hard to go back to regular Galaga. I think it was circa 1985 or so, I have not seen a machine in about 10 years. No codes or cheats that I was aware of, but could last about 30 minutes for the quarter.

That's another thing, when in the heck did it become acceptable for games to have a dollar bill acceptor? $1 for a video game, 5-10 minutes for kids? Crazy.....

Space Duel. Great asteroids type game where you could play partners against the machine with the 2 of you each controlling half the ship (connected together) with your own boosters. If you boosted the wrong way and time you could slingshot your buddy or both of you into an asteroid.

(1) galaga
(2)golden tee golf
(3)astroids

This thread brought back alot of good old memories. Spent many a lunch hour and rain out days on those three games after getting a attitude adjustment. Alot of fun!

countinguy.....I remember dig dug.....I had a cocktail version of that game in my house at one time.....

Whenever I played it I always tried to dig long a$$ tunnels from the bottom all the way to the highest rocks and try to kill as many as I could with one rock.

One of my memories about that game was that about every game of that I found out there, the vendors didn't clean the contacts beneath the joystick, and the games played out with your guy getting stuck because the joystick wasn't working properly....never helped when there was two or three chasing you in a tunnel and you was trying to freeze them all just to get away or complete the dig under a rock.....greed kills....

Heaven, oh!!, this isn't it?!
Age of the Empires :nutkick All versions........

For the Oldies but goodies,, what was the name of that game where you took out the squares(rectangles) with you ball and paddle, a later version of pong? You hit a special rectangle and another ball would come out. Wonder what I could have bought with all the quarters that went into that machine :scared
