Asencio's garbage and Buerhle is the type of left-hander that gave the 2002 Royal team fits. What's surprising to me is this line. Buerhle faced Ascensio last June before the Twins ran away with the division at Comiskey and Ascensio was getting his first start of the season after an appearance of throwing 16 straight balls and then being yanked. And the line was only -250? Alot has changed since then, but this line hasn't?

Gonna hope that Buerhle stays to form and hope that the White Sox continue to have hitting doldrums once they get a lead.

Why do you call Ascensio garbage? He was a rule 5 draft pick at the age of 22 when he had those big struggles. Yes, he has a few control problems but he is able to eat up innings and give the Royals a chance to win.


I'll tell you what garbage is. It's whitesox fans who run on the field and attack coaches and umpires.

Bobby - You're usually pretty right-on with your stuff but I have to disagree with you on Asencio. The guy has tremendous stuff. Yeah, he may get a bit wild at times, but the kid is only 22 years old and was pitching in A ball in 2001. I really shouldnt be pointing you out because I've read on many occasion people saying both Asencio and Affeldt are garbage pitchers. These guys are both kids, were rookies last year, and are a big part of the reason why KC is where they are right now. I'd much rather have these two guys than Jeff Suppan and Brian Meadows.

I only watch white sox games and everytime I've seen him pitch, he's been garbage. 10 runs in 11 innings this year. The only reason he was in the bigs last year was because he was a rule 5. He won't be up here at the end of this season.

It's the same reason I think Sweeney should be MVP. He kills the Sox.
