Third straight day in the cold for both of these teams. The Sox got a 4-0 lead on Friday and basically stopped hitting until the gap was closed to 4-2 with a home run. They had 4 runs on 6 hits through 2 innings and then got 1 run off of 4 hits for the final 6 innings.

Yesterday, they manufactured 3 runs in the third and then their runs came off home runs. Valentin has been on fire, but he's not making good contact and giving it a ride : He's swinging for the fences. Not a good sign from your #2.

Quotes from the week:
Alomar-"Everybody just wanted to get out of here. We tried to minimize the time on the field and get back to the dugout,'' catcher Sandy Alomar Jr. said Saturday after Buehrle led the Chicago White Sox over the Detroit Tigers 7-0 Saturday.

Loaiza - ''Everybody was just glad to get it over,'' said Loaiza, who now has a 10-3 record in April for his career. ''It was really hard coming from Tucson with the heat and then to come here and try to adjust.''

While the inexperience of the pitchers worries me , everyone wants this game over quickly, including the umps.

And lastly, Detroit's starters averages through 5 games:

G. Kingsale .143
S. Halter .250
B. Higginson .056
D. Young .056
D. Palmer .077
C. Pena .083
E. Munson .214
B. Inge .083
O. Infante 167

It looked good until the bottom of the 8th. The books had to have made out like bandits on this one. Line had dropped to 9? at most places:(
