Garcia is still Seattle's ace despite his bad second half in 2002 and his slow start this year. He's coming around to form in his last three starts. The only Sox batter who has had good success against him is Konerko and he's not to be trusted right now. Sox are hitting .227 against righties this season and an abysmal .192 in their last 10 games.
Stewart has been decent as a fifth starter but has not been overpowering and looks to be over his head here as the Sox struggle against the A's and the Mariners (like everyone else not named the Yankees). Colon could have gone today, but it would appear that Manuel is setting up his pen for matchups Sunday and next week. And Stewart's start speaks volumes for how he will substitiute his bullpen today.
