It pains me to play this game as it means so much to the Sox with Ritchie going to the hill tomorrow. It will be hard to catch the Twins in the second half of the season once their pitching comes back.
But the loss last night was DEVASTATING. Not so much the loss itself as the fact that the Twins came from 3 runs down to catch the Sox, just as they did all last season. Manuel is losing the clubhouse by not sticking to his word that Clayton would be demoted, Valentin has no idea what his role is, Lofton is playing hurt, and the Twins showed their hustle last night which is the one thing that has been lacking from the Sox all season long.
Concerns with a play on the Twins is the fact that Milton is coming back after injuring his toe and the fact that the Twins hit lefties at .242 for the year, .30 lower than their average overall. But even with these negatives, I see a loose and aggressive Minnesota team finding some way to get rid of their main foe before the All-star break.
