With the White Sox getting swept in the three game series with the Cardinals it is easy to forget that the Sox have still won 16 of their last 22 games.
??
Tonight they host the Kansas City Royals in game one of a three game series. The Royal's season high five game winning streak was snapped Sunday with a loss to the Milwaukee Brewers.

Mark Buehrle takes the mound for the White Sox. Buehrle is 2 - 0 versus the Royals with a .231 ERA.

Buehrle's biggest asset is his poise on the mound. He almost always works ahead in the count and isn't afraid to throw inside. He has command of as many as five pitches. His fastball rarely tops 91-92 MPH, but he keeps hitters guessing with two sliders, a curveball and an improving changeup. His confidence in his changeup has improved to the point where he can use it in fastball counts. His move to first is deadly.

Chad Durbin starts for the Royals. Durbin is 2-1 versus the White Sox with a .927 ERA. Ironically, he only gave up 3 runs in six innings in his only loss to the White Sox and he was pounded twice for 5 runs in 4 innings on both of his wins as the Royal bats and bullpen saved him. He won't get by with that tonight.

The White Sox were embarrassed by the Cardinals and will be looking for a big victory to put that series sweep behind them.

I'm playing the White Sox -171 . . . but then again . . . I'm Never Caught Up.

I agree that the White sox should win, but think it will be much closer than most do. Granted Durbin was hit hard twice last year by the sox. But in nine starts this season he has given up three runs or less 7 of 9 times (6 times going 7+ innings). His last 3 starts have all been decent. I suppose it is what you put the most stock in, but I like the under at -110 better than the sox at -180. I have been wrong before and most certainly will be again, but will take my chances. GOOD LUCK ON THE SOX......

nice to see these write-ups. i did one on kc/milw yesterday, but got nailed. still, i think this is the way to go:

write-up, comments for/against. it certainly would make the board more interesting and hopefully help someone see other angles on the games.

if i had had time to look, i would certainly offer my side of it.

good luck all.

Nice call on the White sox. Never Caught Up, your analysis was right on and I was obviously off base. No one likes to lose, but I am sincerely happy to see ya'll that posted and others as well win with the sox. Good luck today and continued success to you all.
