CHICAGO WHITE SOX +110 ? I don?t usually like going against the Twins at home, but Buehrle offers some nice value as an underdog in this spot. His overall ERA of 3.86 and WHIP of 1.25 are both substantially better than Lohse?s ERA of 4.55 and WHIP of 1.50, which in itself makes the White Sox worthy of a second look as an underdog. Granted, the Twins are on fire right now, but the White Sox have been playing much better also, going 5-2 in their last 7 games. Also, if the Twins have had an Achilles Heel this year, it is against left-handed pitchers at home, as they are only hitting a modest .247 against them. Buehrle has not pitched well in 2 starts vs. the Twins this season, allowing 6 runs in each start, yet the White Sox managed to win both of those games. In fact, the Sox are 5-1 in Buehrle?s 6 career starts against Minnesota. He is still among the AL leaders in wins with his 13-7 record, so look for him to pitch much better tonight. Lohse has a rather high 4.80 ERA at home this year, allowing an opponents batting average of .272. He was less than spectacular the last time he faced Chicago in the Metrodome, allowing 4 earned runs in 6.1 innings, and he should have a tough time again vs. a Sox team that is hitting .290 in the last 10 games.
