Excerpt from an article in this morning's Sun Times...

The game wasn't televised in Chicago, which was just as well because no one can bear to watch. If there is any sense of mercy, the White Sox will be blacked out the rest of the season so a terminally cursed city needn't witness The Mother of All Collapses. There now is a distinct possibility they will become the first team in baseball history to miss the postseason after holding a 15-game division lead as late as Aug. 1, a free fall that makes the crash of the 1969 Cubs seem like a fender-bender.

in order for the SOX to not make the playoffs

1. They must go 5-9

2. Clevland must overtake them for the Div

3. Yankees must go 9-3

SOX PLAYOFF BOUND

I think Bartman should throw out the first pitch ( Playoff game 1 ) :mj07:

White Sox win coin tosses in wild card scenarios

NEW YORK (Ticker) - The Chicago White Sox have their sights set
on a division title. But even if they are forced to play a
one-game playoff for the American League wild card, they will
get to stay at home.

Major League Baseball conducted two more coin tosses on
Wednesday to determine sites for potential two-team tiebreakers
and the White Sox won both, giving them home games against both
the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees in a possible one-game
playoff.

The White Sox (94-63) own the best record in the AL, but have
just a two-game lead over Cleveland (92-65) in the Central
Division with five games remaining. After playing at Detroit
Wednesday and Thursday, the White Sox will finish the regular
season with a three-game series at Cleveland.

The Red Sox (92-65) and Yankees (92-65) are tied for first place
in the American League East.

Any one-game tiebreaker would be scheduled for Monday, October
3.

not sure how it will end but i have white sox to win div; angels to win theirs; and yankees to win div too .... amazing how tribe is unbeatable till they go vs TB, the dropped fly in KC 9th has been huge trigger it appears ... red sox come home and now lost 2 to jays unless big rally ... this is as wide open as ever, any of the 8 teams that enter derby would not shock anyone if they won it (well, sd might be exception)
