I beg to differ, my post was not worthless. I was giving my opinion on your constant usc moronic posts.

I don't care if you don't give a crap about my personal opinions, but I have a right to express my disgust with your usc crap and with your reasoning behind all your bu**sh**.

I just choose to express in a few words and not write page after page of crap.

Your a moron, IMO:thefinger

Scott....hard list for me to put up on the coaches....that was kind of a random statement on my part...but if i had to put a list together, it would be.....

1. Stoops
2. Saban
3. Richt
4. Tressel
5. Carroll

Now I know you are going to ask why Carroll is where he is, and here is my main reason. You can probably argue this with any coach, but I think it is more obvious with Carroll than any other on this list. His coordinators make him a super coach. I don't know that any other coach on this list has the coordinator to help him like Chow does with Carroll. Just my opinion, welcome for comments.

Your post speaks volumes about your character. Enough said.

jpblack34

Nice list of coaches. I am not sold on Stoops at all being the #1 coach in country after getting beat the last 2 games of the year the way they did. OU team was poorly prepared and I do not think Stoops is a class act. Too much of a whiner. A coach should have his team playing the best football at the end of the year (barring major injuries).

Your right I disagree with you putting Carroll at #5 but that is fine by me because you gave me a pretty good reason. Your right, Carroll has surrounded himself with the best supporting coaching staff in the country. You brought up an excellent point.

My top 5 head coaches:

#1 Carroll
#2 Saban
#3 Tressel
#4 Stoops
#5 Ferentz (Iowa coach)

***Most up and coming head coach, TEDFORD without question. This guy will be a top 5 head coach of college football within the next 2 years.

I feel a name that is being looked over as far as a top coach is concerned is Dan Hawkins of Boise State.

I dont think really the SEC has tricked anyone...Like i said before its the Voters and Coaches who vote like this, i dont think they have really been tricked. most of the teams in that conference have a preety decent size schedule. It would be interesting to see who had the toughest schedule per conference. Big Ten would have to be up there as well as the ACC.

#1 ACC 18.33 :thumb:

#2 SEC 25.9

#3 Pac 10 28.9 (not bad for a "down" year in Pac 10)

#4 Big 10 34

#5 Big 12 45

#6 Big East 54.87

#7 Mountain West 56.7 (they are on par with Big 12 & Big East)

ALL THESE SOS ARE COMPLETE JOKES!
MID-AMERICAN
CONFERENCE USA
WAC
SUN BELT

I calculated this from Sagarin ratings index. He lists each conference, and the teams SOS rank, i added it up and divided by # teams in conference. These #'s are the average SOS Rank for the teams in their conference. I was suprised to see the Pac 10 so far up, it shows playing tough OOC competition helps in SOS. Remember, it was "supposedly" a down year in the Pac 10.

Why I can see why you make this point, I like the fact that Boise St will play the big boys but teams don't seem to want to play them. I can't remember the last time these guys looked embarassed against a supposed superior foe.

What is your point, exactly? These conferences aren't members of the BCS! It is EXTREMELY difficult for these teams to schedule big time opponents because the big time schools are very reluctant to agree to a home and home.

Why are you poking fun at these conferences? Dude, do you have little-man syndrome?

I am calling it as it is. Their SOS is a joke.

Average BCS Conference SOS is 34.5
Average SOS for these 4 conferences is 94.92 :nooo:

NO COMPARISON :nooo:

MID-AMERICAN 88.2
WAC 91.2
Conf. USA 94
SUN BELT 106.3

Now I do not teams from these conferences crying that they do not get the respect they deserve. I do not respect teams who play bad SOS. The lowest BCS conferene SOS was the Big East, they had SOS of 54 while the MID AMERICAN had SOS of 88.2!!!

That is a difference of 34pts!!!! Compare the Mid American to the strongest BCS conference, you then have a difference of 70pts!!!!!

I am in favor of sending the 5th place team in the ACC over the top team in any of these conferences unless the winner of these confences went undefeated and had a high SOS. For example if Miami Ohio went undefeated and had a SOS say, under 50. Miami Ohio had a SOS of 72 this year and still lost a game, which is pretty bad. They earned what they deserved. There is no excuses about teams not being able to schedule tough opponents. You just cannot expect a fair deal (like home and home series).

That is my opinion. Now if we had a playoff system, then I think a non BCS conference deserves at least one automatic spot. Also, I am in favor of a non BCS conference team playing in the Championship game, but they have to earn it. That means they prob. have to play a top 10 OOC SOS in the nation and win all the games. It sucks but it is not fair to the teams that play much tougher SOS and lose 4-5 games because of that. Also, no big time program would want to play any of those teams from those conferences UNLESS they have proven themselves winning out on a tough OOC schedule.

This is like the chicken or the egg arguement. A conference is only as strong as it's weakest team when judging them by SOS, and by that standard some of these conferences are awful. In say C-USA, any team that will have Army on their schedule is pretty much guarenteed to have a poor SOS, yet contractually they must play them. Does that make the conference as a whole bad? Maybe. Should the poor performance of a conferences worst team negatively effect a stronger team. In my opinion, no.

This is why I have a tough time just comparing the conferences across the board based on SOS, because some of the bottom feeders in the Mid Majors really drag it down, and are not fully committed to college football. Not every school can be a football powerhouse, and they decide to concentrate their budget and or efforts elsewhere.

Scott your non BCS claims are absolutely pathetic. Most of them can't even get bigger teams to get a home & home so they end up not facing them.

You clearly leave that out of your skewed points.

NO YOU ARE WRONG , and you clearly cannot read and comprehend. I am suprised so many people on this board have such a poor reading comprehension. This is what I wrote.

NOT EXPECTING A FAIR DEAL, like a home and home series. LET ME SPELL IT OUT FOR YOU! 2 away + 1home series or just 1 away game. That is not fair but that is what they would have to do to play "most" of the elite programs. Otherwise the elite programs will say no. UNDERSTAND?

So there you go, acting immature and classless, calling my claims absolutely pathetic. Looks like you put your foot into your mouth. Why can't you just act mature. :nono:

Scott you don't know how to understand what people write.

Most people on this board are sick of you & your big dick/little dick type behavior.

We heard for months how USC was winning the BCS Title, no way LSU will be there yada yada, once that blew up in your face, you changed your tune & was singing the praises of a stupid AP title.

You knock the SEC & cut & paste your little facts but ignoring the obvious about the conference & that being it is considered weak by most. Ask every single coach which conference they thought was the toughest from top to bottom & I guarantee you the Pac 10 wouldn't be the #1 choice.

All you do is cut & paste crap other homers write sprinkled in with some of your usual rhetoric & then when you get called out on it, you change your tune.

It is a FACT you have done that for months on end & even after the season is over, you do the same thing.

This site isn't here for you to spread your USC gospel all over it. Go to a fan site where all that shit is welcomed. This goes for anyone including myself as the homer shit you clutter this board with is past the point of ridiculous.

Most elite programs are pussies against non BCS schools & that is a fact. Most of these teams are afraid to go out & face these teams on their turf yet expect these same teams to come to them 2 or 3 times before they get something back. Yeah ok that sounds real bright.

Go to your USC site & stop cluttering this forum up with your obsession. You come across as a little kid.

Mr Hockey,

Here's a perfect example of what we were talking about in the General thread.

I completely agree with you about this guy and I might add you said it quite well.

My only point is i just say it in fewer words, I just call him a moron and ask what time his mother puts him to bed:D

No real order but these will be around for the next 5years or so near the top.

Miami will roll the acc

USC class of new players get stronger with eah year and have great coaching staff.

LSU the same goes as above with usc one guy goes 2 come in.

Ohio St have a great coach who can get the players they were lacking in the years before Jim got there.

Maryland laugh all you want but you will see ralph and the terps are solid and have a good crew coming in, they do not get the respect they should.

Funny how your last post totally ignored the fact that you made a clear mistake and could not read and comprehend what I wrote. This thread is not about USC so I do not know why you brought it up. Again, you could not read and comprehend the original post in this thread. :nono:

Lastly, only madjack tells me what to do (it is his site), so I do not take any advice from you or anybody else. I will save you time and do not bother to give me advice. It is not wanted. Lastly, everything I write is about college football. It just so happens USC won a split NC and USC got the #1 recruiting class in the nation. Oh yeah, USC got the most 5-star recruits ever in one class. Something to be recognized and talked about. A lot of my arguments have nothing to do with USC but conferences. So I have no idea what your talking about. If you do not like it, do not participate. Most importantly, if you do participate, I advise you to read each and every post 2-3 times so you can comprehend it. Not a slam, but I do not want to waste my time correcting you again for something so silly on reading and comprehension.
