Iraqi soccer team or USA basketball?

for me, I feel proud to see the Iraqi team succeed....clearly they are enjoying their taste of freedom from tyranny....a basic human right which so many of us take for granted

regardless of your politics, we should be proud for what our troops did in Iraq and how we have brought freedom from tyranny to this populace....

lives were lost for this cause and lives will be lost for this cause until the world is no more....no doubt about it.....

it is a just, noble cause and anyone who says otherwise insults every life that has been lost...anyone who says otherwise forgets what life was like for these folks when Uday Hussein ran the team....how sad is it that so many today try to discredit the worthiness of the fight against tyranny?

On the other hand we have the USA basketball team which is composed of a bunch of crying, whining, babies who have had everything given to them......they think that their average day in the NBA is like "a war" and all this other garbage....nothing makes me more sick to my stomach and when i see enormously overmatched teams taking it to them i find myself rooting against these wussies who combined have as much courage and fortitude as the Iraqis do in their toenails

Actually neither...I give a super hat's off too the USA, no doubt, but also an extra hats off since you want to bring it up should be for the specialized forces of the Australian and Canadian Detachments

Without these Special Forces of these two countries the USA would not have a chance on the say at this point.

The dirty work was laid long long ago by these special units and I give out a well deserved to them and??wtg . to the athletes that are represented by these two sovereigns.

How important?

How important?

Trying not to throw cold water on the olympics, but how important are they anymore ? Countries spend Billions on stadiums, NBC spends almost as much for rights to show it, and countless countries spend valuable resources to make it fly...all so we have packaged entertainment and a "pixie darling" or another jock on a box of wheaties.

I would trade it happily for daily live coverage of what is happening in Afghanistan, and Iraq where our soldiers are dying...this is the most sanitized war in the history of the planet...when was the last time you saw live feed of fighting or humanitarian efforts involving this war? Sadly it appears the media has been muzzled.....enjoy the lions and christians show people of Rome.....the clock is running.....

I heard today that there is a Bush election commercial talking about the Iraqi soccer team -- but have not seen it. Regardless, the captain of the Iraqi soccer team wants this add pulled and said that his team does not appreciate being used as a pawn in this election.

Has anyone else heard about this? Again I've yet to see this commercial so I can't fully comment on it.

"for me, I feel proud to see the Iraqi team succeed....clearly they are enjoying their taste of freedom from tyranny....a basic human right which so many of us take for granted" as stated by Dr. Freeze.

"Iraq as a team does not want Mr. Bush to use us for the presidential campaign," Sadir told SI.com through a translator, speaking calmly and directly. "He can find another way to advertise himself." as stated by captain of the Iraqi soccer team.

I guess they can't taste very well huh, you blind follower. Yeah, real proud.

Freeze:

Please explain how I manipulated your words when I copied and pasted your quote. You ignorant clown.

You said the Iraqi soccer team is "CLEARLY" enjoying their taste of freedom from tyranny. Yet the captain of said team does not want Bush to use them for his political gain. Or am I missing some other interpretation.

You are one sick m. f*****. Bush and his disgusting family are using the olympics for their own political gain. There ads in my battleground state imply a connection between Bush and the olympic athletes. I guess the message is vote for Bush, he's an american and Kerry is not.

Your post is evidence of how you and the regime in Washington twist, spin and out and out lie. I hope you don't treat your patients like that or are you still in chiropractic school.

"You said the Iraqi soccer team is "CLEARLY" enjoying their taste of freedom from tyranny. Yet the captain of said team does not want Bush to use them for his political gain."

What is the correlation between these two statements? Is it not possible, if not probable, that the soccer team is having its country's greatest success ever in an Olympic event because of Sadam's removal?

And why would anyone expect that the team would want to be used for political gain?
