i have a problem. I have a Playstation 3 PS3 and want to list it on ebay. Well, Ebay just came out with pre-sale requirements and I fail to meet 1 of the 7.

Here are the ebay requirements:

1. You must have a Feedback of 50 or more. (NO-I dont have, just 20, but all positive)
2. Your Feedback score must be 98% or above. (YES, I have 100%)
3. You may only list one system. You may list 1 PlayStation 3 and 1 Nintendo Wii with a photo of your pre-order receipt for each system. (Yes, I comply)
4. You must accept PayPal as your only payment option. (Yes, I comply)
5. You must include a photo of your receipt in the listing. (Yes, I comply)
6. No Buy It Now will be allowed. (Yes, I comply)
7. No one day listings will be allowed.
(Yes, I comply)

So, I fail by 30 positive feedbacks, and want to do a 7 day auction ending on next friday, the day it is released. Does anyone here want to list it for me, using your account, and I pay you the fees plus $50?

UT-Longhorn,
I would wait till after the 17th to put up this auction and I would stay away from paypal. Paypal is freezing paypal accounts that sell PS3... I will post the information you need. Its the biggest crock of shit ever!

Yea, I saw that. But i am an online merchant, and can accept credit cards. So the person would just need to say in the auction they accept Paypal, but prefer www.propay.com and just have them pay via credit card thru propay. Ive processed over $50,000 thru propay with 1 single issue.

A thread about the possibility of PayPal locking your account if you sell a PS3 AFTER Launch day. Notice how the Ebay Rep only gives steps to help reduce the possibility.

Here is more information about paypal really screwing you over and holding you're money till you provide a tracking #, proof of delivery... oh and get this... Your money isnt clearing till the BUYER confirms receipt.... So be careful because you can get screwed by someone that did get your ps3, says they didnt and ur up the creek. I have 2 pre orders and am camping out on the 16th and I am NOT going to accept paypal... Dont feel like those asses holding all of this money frozen in paypal account

Last year AFTER PayPal and Ebay realized Xbox 360s were causing a bunch of fraud cases they started to require photos of receipts, SS card, utility bills and ect. Here is a post I found from the Ebay->PayPal forums

As far as paypal locking up my account I know they will.

Last year i sold 1 xbox 360 they made me

1 called me and made me input a four digit code into phone.

2. emailed me with something with a 6 digit code i had to phone in.

3. Asked for a photo copy of my SS card

4. asked for a photo copy of a utility bill.

5. asked for a photo copy of the online trackable tacking number

6. asked for a photo copy of the original receipt showing i had bought it.

7. after i gave them all this they then called my buyer and asked them if they recieved the item.

Now, what I'm really worried about is SNAD. It looks like even if you have delivery confirmation and signature confirmation, your still not protected from SNAD. A buyer who is really determined to SNAD you will win the PayPal case.

Here is a good discussion about protecting yourself from PS3 SNAD.

have followed Ebay's rules and sold a preorder. My PayPal account is now frozen. I'm suprised NOBODY in FW or SD has posted this. Here is my post from FW.

Verified Account or not. EVERYBODY's PS3 Presale Funds will be held with PayPal until proof of delivery. Then they have to spend 3-4 days reviewing your case! WTH!?

Like I said earlier, if you visit the eBay->PayPal Forums and search PS3 you will see other sellers, even 2000+ FB Powersellers, having the same problem as I do. We followed all the rules on eBay but eBay didn't disclose the fact that PayPal will lock your account until there is proof of delivery.

I have a question for sellers that have sold their pre-orders on Ebay, has paypal frozen your account after the auction ended and you received payment? I can't find any posts by people who have actually been able to withdraw the money after the auction ended. It makes me cautious about selling my pre-order on Ebay if Paypal is going to freeze the account. Anyone have any experiences where they could withdraw the money? Or is it all just frozen at this moment?
thanks

Looks like even a powerseller will have their account frozen for a PS3. I had a powerseller friend list a Wii for me and his Paypal account was not frozen (mine was when I sold one though).

Also Bestbuy is NOT allowing anyone to camp out or sit outside of stores 24 hours before release.... I am assuming this is the same for all stores also.

to prevent that from happening, they can pay me thru my merchant account via credit card at www.propay.com. Over $50,000 in transactions processed and not 1 issue. But to keep KNEIFL even more protected, ill list my paypal account in the actual auction and just take that chance, but im not worried. I sold my Xbox 360 last year on launch day, actually sold 2 and no issues whatsoever.

But stupid ebay says "ONLY" paypal can be accepted... I just think ebay/paypal are the biggest bunch of idiots. Ebay gives you the impression if you follow their rules that its OKAY... But they leave out the part where paypal will freeze you're account.

And it just pisses me off that paypal is protecting the buyer with this we freeze the money in you're account till you send them every peice of information and if the buyer says they never got it you are out of $1500 and a PS3.... And after that whole process... if anyone has dealt with paypal... who knows how long you're funds are frozen till

A buddy of mine sold his locally here thru one of those ebay stores, listing paypal as the payment option and he accepted a money order from the person, held it till it cleared and it went smoothly no problems.

UT again, as soon as you list another payment besides paypal, you WILL be reported and you're ebay account will be suspended and be prepared to fax over 6 pages of requested information to ebay. A friend of mine had to send over his DL, his credit card, his receipt showing payment, a written letter saying you wont do it again. IMO its not worth it what so ever to sell a pre order 1 week before system launch... You risk you're ebay account being suspended or not in ur case but in anyone elses case the funds being frozen by paypal. Wait till the 17th... Find out what rules ebay puts in place at that time. Then proceed from there. I personally am going to list mine after black friday weekend when people realize there are NO ps3 around. Get my email from jack if you need info. We might work something out after the 17th because i have 70+ feedback 100% rating. I am NOT going to use paypal so we can work together.

Well you can always do that... hell is not you're ebay account. But even powersellers are having the same problem, just check completed auctions. All I am saying is juice is not worth the squeeze just to sell somethign 1 week before release with all these idiotic rules in place that protect everything for the buyer but not the seller.
