Was just wondering who else enjoys sitting on their front porch with a beer or two in hand with some good country music playing? :drinky: You have discovered one of the finer things in life, my friend. ;) How about it Taoist, Bluemond, Monk, Freeze? Do any Canadian boys dig the honky tonk? :canada1

...dude, you know that I listen to all kinds of music, but I remember (albeit vaguely) the look on your face when you would come back from class only to find Merl Haggard blasting through the house and me sitting there at 11:00 in the morning with a bottle in hand.... It was even better when you'd bring a girl back. The looks on their faces were priceless.... I bet some of them thought you had taken in a homeless guy off the street. You were such a humanitarian back in the old days. LMFAO!!! :thefinger

Here's a six-pack and a toast to the old days....

:drinky: :drinky: :drinky: :drinky: :drinky: :drinky:

You got a big affirmative on that one ole buddy.

However, I can picture Dogs and 65 on the porch in front of that lovely little home on Main Street owned by 65 sippin lemonade while listenin to Clint Black warble about some big harred, waitress at the diner who done him wrong, playin on the transistor radio.

Kinda brings tears to your eyes.

You left a person off the list of country music haters, in fact he is violently opposed to it's very existence, ME!! Country music is in fact a contridiction in terms. As much as it pains me to align myself with Eddie Haskell, it may be time for me to put hm on retainer as I attempt to petition the courts to enact a law where any singer must have some sort of talent before recording a song.

The check is in the mail Mr. Haskell

I would like a favor from all you country faithful, please take back Lynard Skynard and ZZ Top so they will stop poluting rock and roll stations with their country music disguised as "southern rock". In their latest effort Lynard Skynard claims to have "never seen the inside of that magizine GQ", well you didn't need to tell me that one, I could have guessed it, shocks the hell out of me they could even spell the title let alone read it.

Great Quote from Blues Brothers.

Great Quote from Blues Brothers.

Elwood Blues: What kind of music do you usually have here?

Claire: Oh, we got both kinds. We got country *and* western.

contrary to popular belief by middle aged Cincinnattians, I don't live on Main Street :p Country is ok, but I much prefer other brands and would rather listen to talk radio.

On the course!
Do I hate it? No. Do I listen to it? NO!

If it is on the radio in the background, I don't run for cover, but it isn't on any of my pre-sets!:D

My pre-sets:

1. Classic Rock
2. Modern Rock
3. 80's
4. Light Jazz
5. Oldies

I would listen to country more, if it wasn't so sappy. I mean, after "9-11" every bumpkin with a "gee-tar" hee hawed some shit about the good ol USA.

Granted, it's a nice change of pace from the drinkin'/arguin'/pick up drivin'/back in the day shit they usually warble about!

Thanks for puttin me on the list! To be honest, I can "tolerate" a few singers and a short list of songs on a not very often regularity.

I just cant get riled up listening to who's mama was a chippewa, and whos daddy was a cherokee chockwah.

And I usually have enough car problems on my own without listenin to some old drunk guy cry about his.

I still have both my dogs alive - So no sympathy from me about yer damn beagle dying on you. sorry, can't relate

Then again, I despise 98% of Hollywood, Dollywood, and anything in between, and a lot of the media - so it aint like I am only picking on country bumpkins here.
