White Sox? This team is reeling. Guys are upset with Guillen and the Twins are white hot. How could anyone bet against Santana in this spot? I just grabbed the Twins to win the AL Central at 15-to-1. They play Detroit 10 more times -- gotta love this generous price on a team that: simply doesn't lose at home, has the best 1-2 starters in the game, #3 starter Radke is 5-0 of late, and they have the leading hitter in baseball in Mauer and an 80 RBI guy in Morneau. Kent Hrbek was on the radio saying this team is a lot like the '87 team that won it all. 40:1 for WS right now also looks mighty tempting...

tell me a team that has better overall starting pitching? they may not lose a series the rest of the season with Santana-Liriano along with Radke stepping it up. Yes, Silva and 5th starter will lose 2 out of every 3 games.

If this club gets into the playoffs and the key guys stay healthy, look out.

I take it you are talking a short-term chase, say within the current series?

Boston - no way. Schiling looks good tomorrow, but that is pricey and if you have to chase with Snyder on Wednesday...ouch.

BrewCrew - both them and the Pirates are real streaky. Not a bad idea though as they should be able to take one more from the Bucs.

SF - I like this one. Giants should be able to take one if not two from the Nats. They are by far a better team and have favorable pitching matchups.

Minny - though a lot of people think Chicago is going to keep falling, I just have a feeling that they are going to respond soon enough and go on a tear to pull closer to the Tigers.

Also if you can stomach betting on the boys from KC, I think they warrant chase consideration against Baltimore. Both have terrible pitching though, so I'ld have to consider this one a bit.

I'm still trying to figure out how the offense didn't even show up for last night's game...???  :nono:

Francis was on and hitting the right spots. Just one of those nights when an average pitcher steps up and goes lights out.

Kegger, any information/stats on how many home teams have finished an entire year without being swept at home? This could just be for recent years. Just curious.

I have only been tracking the home series this season.

Some more info:

Minn/Tor have won game 1 or 2 of every home series.
Boston - Did not win until Game 3 only once (was a 4 game series)
Chicago WS - Did not win until Game 3 twice (their last 2 series at home)
Mets - Did not win until Game 3 once
