how would google know who was the worst president ever ?...that's ridiculous.

i have mentioned it many times here....the worst president in my lifetime, hands down, is the peanut farmer from georgia.....& and i mistakenly voted for him....probably the worst political vote that i have ever made.........

of course many people here are blinded for their hatred of bush....but it's much too early to rate bush's presidency.....

I was young, but I remember it vividly. And you're exactly right, it was an act of war that deserved a severe response. It got no response other than a far-fetched, unlikely to succeed rescue attempt that killed our own troops.

We should have tried to negotiate for a couple weeks and then started to deploy troops. That was not really a state-sponsored incident and once it became clear that we would be knocking on their door shortly, the government would have gotten them released immediately.

If anyone wanted to be objective the only possible answers are:

Jimmy Carter
Andrew Johnson
Lyndon Johnson
Herbert Hoover

Forgot to list Gerald Ford.

Carter in my time--hands down

Clem On your google search thing--As in handicapping it is prudent to ask yourself "why" situations occur.

Why don't you type in "best president ever" and report back to us what you find. I'll clue you in--regardless of attributes you type in--good or bad--the current pres will pull up in most instances.
You should be able to figure out the why on your own.;)

A large amount of historians rate Pierce, Harding, A. Johnson, Buchanon and Harrison as the five worst presidents and I believe these are the more accurate assessments since most of them are non-partisan. George W Bush at one point had the opportunity after 9/11 to elevate himself into one of the top ten presidents in history but he blew that chance with partisan politics, cronyism and the unability to be truthful with the American people. Unless major changes take place in the next few years Bush should end up ranked in the bottom 25% of Presidents in the 32-41 range, below his father whom generally is ranked right in the middle.
