"-even Hellen Keller can see the obvious

Even the blindest of liberals have to acknowledge which party the terrorist want in power."

The terrorists are in power, Bush/Cheney.

Ever play chess, the troops are pawns, Pawns are the ones that can be used to further the purposes of another.

Republicans want you to think that support the troops means support the war. That's like saying support Kentucky fried chickens, you who about to die, we salute you.

They don't care about the troops, if they did they would get them out of there.

Where else can a man go to jail for dog fighting, but a man arranges for people to fight (Bush), 100,000 die and not see a day in a courtroom, isn't this @ss backwards?

DTB,
Give it at FREACKING rest once awhile -will ya. Turn off the -all Rush Limbaugh station- all the time-that you have churning in your head.
Try to remember that we "USED" to be the nation every other nation (I am talking the civilized ones here) looked up to..
That's not the case anymore and some of its because of our aggresive effort to go to war in IRAQ for manufactured reasons(some people- like me would call those manufactured reasons LIES- Oh Yeah..thats right ...they were lies)
watch the news on the BBC- -get a non- RUSH LIMBAUGH/non- Sean hannity perspective. You might even learn something about what the rest world thinks(and also what they know).they dont have to digest bvllshit daily on FOX either

You can call it Rush-hannity or whatever you want
--as your side stepping issue--but have yet to see you discount any of post as non factual.

--a simple explaination of which below you feel is not factual will suffice--

no doubt everyone supports troops--the question is whose troops-

We catch Saddam who defends him
We catch UBLS body quard who defends him
We catch UBL's secretary who defends him

-The GOP(and their radio/tv mouths) have you EXACTLY where they want you. Blindly following, never thinking for yourself, and in a total state of FEAR.As far as Blind goes -you are the pot calling the kettle black- if there ever was such a thing!.
Fear is the GOP 's best weapon.Ron Paul vehemently opposes this WAR(and has since day 1-just wondering why he isnt afraid the way you and the other blind right wing followers are - ya see its harder to scare the educated ,informed types) and he is a Republican last time I checked. The difference between him and the other GOP candidates is he calls them as he see's them. Big business and the GOP big lie and fear machine doesnt care much for him-GEE I wonder why.Read the quote below and try to absorb the wisdom in it-who knows ya might learn something today.

"War is just a racket. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that
is not what it seems to the majority of people. Only a small inside group knows
what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few at the expense
of the masses." -- Major General Smedley Darling Butler (1981-1940) Major
General USMC, "Old Gimlet Eye'' and "Hell Devil Darling", most highly decorated
military men from the pre-World War II era. Source: from a speech in 1933

The soft, the complacent the self-satisfied societies will be swept away with
the debris of history - John Fitzgerald Kennedy

"The only fence against the world is a thorough knowledge of it." -- John Locke
(1632-1704) English philosopher and political theorist. Considered the
ideological progenitor of the American Revolution and who, by far, was the most
often non-biblical writer quoted by the Founding Fathers of the USA. 1693

DTB,
Read the quote by Mccain below-He's one of your guys-
Case closed!!!

Our enemies didn't adhere to the Geneva Convention. Many of my comrades were subjected to very cruel, very inhumane and degrading treatment, a few of them even unto death. But every one of us -- every single one of us -- knew and took great strength from the belief that we were different from our enemies, that we were better than them, that we, if the roles were reversed, would not disgrace ourselves by committing or countenancing such mistreatment of them: - John McCain, Republican US Senator

=
... the United States, for generations, has sustained two parallel but opposed states of mind about military atrocities and human rights: one of U.S. benevolence, generally held by the public, and the other of ends-justify-the-means brutality sponsored by counterinsurgency specialists. Normally the specialists carry out their actions in remote locations with little notice in the national press. That allows the public to sustain its faith in a just America, while hard-nosed security and economic interests are still protected in secret: - Robert Parry, investigative reporter and author

=
The debate here isn't only how to protect the country. It's how to protect our values.

If cruelty is no longer declared unlawful, but instead is applied as a matter of policy, it alters the fundamental relationship of man to government. It destroys the whole notion of individual rights. The Constitution recognizes that man has an inherent right, not bestowed by the state or laws, to personal dignity, including the right to be free of cruelty. It applies to all human beings, not just in America -- even those designated as 'unlawful enemy combatants.' If you make this exception the whole Constitution crumbles: - Alberto J. Mora, former Navy General Counsel [Feb. 27, 2006 issue of The New Yorker, entitled "The Memo"]

The degree of civilization in a society can be judged by entering its prisons: - - Fyodor Dostoyevsky (1821-1881), Russian novelist

Got nothing to do with your side pandering to terrorist/ running front page story for month plus along with Algazeera on prison ordeal--or having your ex attorney general defending the guy we went to war to get.

Lets try diff avenue--give us your best shot on why you think our enemies wouldn't overwhelmingly want Dems in power--

DTB,
Theres not that much difference in the two parties. The GOP fear machine has you believing such, but its just not true.Except that the fiscally responsible party in the last 15 years has been the progressive party-A.K.A. =the democrats.

Did you know that GERMANY has as many as 6 political parties that range from very left wing to centrists to very right wing?

As for who the" bad guys" may want too see elected-My answer is , I dont vote based on FEAR, you obviously do.
By the way- My candidatefor the office of President is a Republican. His name is Ron Paul and he is not afraid to say this is one dumb -ss war and he has said this since before we left for IRAQ.
Question for you- who has the foreign policy experience you seek from the boys on the right?

you spammers need to give it up....seriously....do you paulians understand that spamming polls does nothing to elevate the perceived popularity of your candidate?....i mean, when online polls show 96.8% support for ron paul (like that one on msnbc awhile back) why do you not realize that no one will believe those poll numbers, and the whole thing just gets shit-canned?...

he`s winning nothing...

to be fair, here`s a nice signature you can use...

"yeah, they?re in his thrall,
yes, a true oddball,
so, vote for paul next fall"...lol

anyhoo, back on the topic of supporting the troops....a nice holiday ditty....

"the embers glowed softly, and in their dim light,
I gazed round the room and I cherished the sight.
My wife was asleep, her head on my chest,
My daughter beside me, angelic in rest.

Outside the snow fell, a blanket of white,
Transforming the yard to a winter delight.
The sparkling lights in the tree I believe,
Completed the magic that was Christmas Eve.

My eyelids were heavy, my breathing was deep,
Secure and surrounded by love I would sleep.
In perfect contentment, or so it would seem,
So I slumbered, perhaps I started to dream.

The sound wasn't loud, and it wasn't too near,
But I opened my eyes when it tickled my ear.
Perhaps just a cough, I didn't quite know, Then the
sure sound of footsteps outside in the snow.

My soul gave a tremble, I struggled to hear,
And I crept to the door just to see who was near.
Standing out in the cold and the dark of the night,
A lone figure stood, his face weary and tight.

A soldier, I puzzled, some twenty years old,
Perhaps a Marine, huddled here in the cold.
Alone in the dark, he looked up and smiled,
Standing watch over me, and my wife and my child.

"What are you doing?" I asked without fear,
"Come in this moment, it's freezing out here!
Put down your pack, brush the snow from your sleeve,
You should be at home on a cold Christmas Eve!"

For barely a moment I saw his eyes shift,
Away from the cold and the snow blown in drifts..
To the window that danced with a warm fire's light
Then he sighed and he said "Its really all right,

I'm out here by choice. I'm here every night."

"It's my duty to stand at the front of the line,
That separates you from the darkest of times.
No one had to ask or beg or implore me,

I'm proud to stand here like my fathers before me.
My Gramps died at ' Pearl on a day in December,"
Then he sighed, "That's a Christmas 'Gram always remembers."

My dad stood his watch in the jungles of ' Nam ',
And now it is my turn and so, here I am.
I've not seen my own son in more than a while,
But my wife sends me pictures, he's sure got her smile.

Then he bent and he carefully pulled from his bag,
The red, white, and blue... an American flag.
I can live through the cold and the being alone,
Away from my family, my house and my home.

I can stand at my post through the rain and the sleet,
I can sleep in a foxhole with little to eat.
I can carry the weight of killing another,
Or lay down my life with my sister and brother..

Who stand at the front against any and all,
To ensure for all time that this flag will not fall."
"So go back inside," he said, "harbor no fright,
Your family is waiting and I'll be all right."

"But isn't there something I can do, at the least,
"Give you money," I asked, "or prepare you a feast?
It seems all too little for all that you've done,
For being away from your wife and your son."

Then his eye welled a tear that held no regret,
"Just tell us you love us, and never forget.
To fight for our rights back at home while we're gone,
To stand your own watch, no matter how long.

For when we come home, either standing or dead,
To know you remember we fought and we bled.
Is payment enough, and with that we will trust,
That we mattered to you as you mattered to us."

Lets try diff avenue--give us your best shot on why you think our enemies wouldn't overwhelmingly want Dems in power--

I can't remember...did you ever answer my question about what an attorney in private practice taking the Saddam case has to do with the democrats? And what has the democratic party specifically done regarding any legal cases of detainees other than ask or expect proof of their being guilty or tied to any crimes against our country? I'm still waiting to hear why it is ok for the United States (which has a legal system, which sets it apart from the more animalistic entities in the world) to hold individuals for four years or more without showing proof of why they are being held.

I have no problem with proven animals being held, if simple proof is shown. I have no problems with those animals (bluntly) to be put to death if their acts (in my mind) warrant it. In fact, I support that. Hell, I ROOT for it in some cases. But to allow this administration the latitude of trust and believability to conduct their business because they tell us anything at this point is not what this country is all about, and should not be permitted.

You hide behind your semantics, Wayne, and wrap yourself in the flag when it helps your cause. And then you ignore and discredit the foundations of freedom and our country which set us apart from the animals. Which you even fought on behalf of. But that's secondary to political beliefs from time to time, and I just will never understand that. But please, address my question above, which is "before you."

GW,
I never said they guy (Ron Paul)was winning a thing.I dont internet poll vote for the guy or anything else. Why are you so against the guy ?
he's not a progressive
I just like him and I am not afraid to say so.The guy has integrity to say what he believes(and he NEVER flip flops) and he's not worried about being PC like Rudy and Hillary and the gang. He made a fool of Rudy(kinda took him out to the woodshed) in an early debate when Rudy popped off that Paul was a nut case.
we didnt hear any pro-longed debate about that on Rush and on Sean-Why is that?
As for our troops- i will say this for the millionth time. I always have and always will support the troops. I have donated to the troops and i have collected food items , hygiene items and small gift items for the troops. I have personally packed the boxes with these items to be shipped to troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.here is the link if you want to make a donation. It lists the items the troops dont get or cant buy as well -here's the link
www.packagesfromhome.org
maybe we can get a few guys from this board to make a donation -no matter what their political views are
2.) I SUPPORT THE TROOPS-I dont support the war or this admin's foreign policy.Hope you can see there is most definitely a difference
3.) A group of thirty of us in my hometown just donated to to the 65 veterans (two of which are women) living in the soldiers home in downtown Phoenix who dont have alot of family(if any) so they dont get many visits and may not be getting a Christmas present otherwise. So please dont question my patriotism -just because I dont believe that the ends justify the means for this war
Happy holidays
