Right around the time church was starting I was fighting a terrible hangover and a hooker that wouldn't leave.

So no, I missed it this week.

Oh i thought this said when was the last time you went to church. I missed it yesterday also but if its any consolation my mom and aunt stopped over my house on wednesday before they went to church. Kosar you shouldn't bring up the word hooker and church in the same post. You should know better than that. Maybe a paid acquaintance would be more proper.

When i lived at home my mom (and i think she still does) has the priest come over and bless the home. Of course there is a fee for this. Well, he is shaking that stuff all around the house. I fugure what the hell so i leave all my handicapping stuff out and maybe some of that white stuff would land on it for some luck. That night i think i went 0-8 and told my mom to never let that Jinxy theif in my room ever again.

Sponge,

You chose eight wrong sides. I don't think God or His earthly service reps had anything to do with it. Btw, do you remember if any of the teams you chose had "devil or demon" in their nickname?

We did. We attended religious services at Santa Anita. At that church they pass the collection plate nine times a day.

If you stop and think, everything you have belongs to the Creator. Even the paper money is printed on. When they pass the collection plate, I believe all I'm doing is giving back to Him what is rightfully His in the first place.

Btw, I have to tell you JC, there's something about your initials that does my heart good.

Perfect, coming from a christian man. I am so glad that you said this and not someone else.

I ask you this, Then why do "we" praise him when something goes our way?

When "we" win that Oscar, i first would like to thank God.

Or when "we" win the Super Bowl, i first would like to thank God.

Or maybe if Sponge went 8-0 instead of 0-8, should he have come on here and thank God.

But NOOOOOOOOOO, when tragedy hits, no one blames God.o when Sponge goes 0-8, just as i expected , God had nothing to do with that.

Ohh wait how about that Tsunami that hit a few years back, I didnt hear how thankful to God that thing went down. Yet i did hear that everyone is in their prayers. And that now, that it is over that now is the time to be thankful for the ones that lived.

BS to all that thankful crap for the ones that lived, how about the ones that died?

And the losing team in the Super Bowl, or maybe the other 4 nominated Oscar losers?

So not to turn this into a "biblical" bloodbath,

My thoughts are this, to all the bible thumpers, if you have this personal relationship with God, then please keep it personal. If you want to thank God, then please do so in your mind and not publicly.(If he is all powerful as some say, i think he will hear your thoughts), but please i dont need to hear them. thx

I retract my earlier statement "thinking" God had nothing to do with Sponge going 0-8. I now "think" God caused Sponge to go o-fer and was simply trying to send him a message. Since a zero is circular type symbol and and eight is comprised of two smaller circles, I now think God was trying to tell Sponge to stop wagering on sports with perfectly round objects and wait for football.

but u do see the good in all. And when it comes right down to it, thats what we are all here for.

religion aside, we all have to get by on this big blue marble. and why not make the best of it.
